Sure, its interest of the playerbase, hence why the game's forums are the most appropriate place to inform the playerbase - and why Valve provides those forum spaces for each and every game, which also keeps the general discussions free from such off topic threads - something I believe they even mention in the posting guidelines.

And there's always been good reasons for compartmentalizing forums in such a way, and why it's been done for 30 odd years. And I'm not the one posting off topic, irrelevant threads, in the wrong forum, trying to get my game noticed, so I'm not the one who is craving for attention.

Sharing info about someone streaming the game might actually be relevant to the player base. I didn’t force anyone to watch — especially not people who get personally offended by everything, like you.

I’m not here to take forum usage advice from someone like you. If it doesn’t interest you, scroll past — or better yet, apply for a job at “Steam Support.”

None of which has anything to do with Steam in and of itself, buckaroo. So it was clearly trying to get some free press for yourself and it was reported as such.

You have your own game forums for making such announcements to the people who might actually care about some random streamer playing a game they bought.

Yes, I was deemed to be advertising because I mentioned in the “wrong” forum that indie game livestreams are being bot-attacked. And someone came to my profile and wrote about it.

Yeah, attempting to advertise your game in the general Steam Discussions is a violation of the TOS and could get your game kicked off of Steam - no matter what reason you want to try to use. Post in your Game's forum hub, or the developer steamworks hub. You'll only be reported here.
