Early Access Review
Great art and soundtrack, love the mechanics and game play, enjoyed the play test and the early access is even better. Much better balancing at the beginning now vs the playtest

If you like these types of slice of life farming sims, especially if you enjoyed the original A Wonderful Life on Gamecube, you'll likely enjoy this too. Its just like the original game with a slight face lift and some quality of life improvements. It is however possibly mildly buggy but nothing too game breaking. Never finished the game on gamecube because I messed up and saved over my file by accident with a second game I had started... So now I will live out my dreams and finish it LOL Im thoroughly enjoying replaying this game.

I enjoyed the game and its little nods to the first one. But man is Daniel a stupid, annoying, brat. 90% of the problems they encounter is because this little s**t doesnt know how to stfu and listen, or use his brain. Hes not even that young, I was smarter than that at 9-10 years old. It was still an interesting story and does call out a lot of injustices and horribleness in the world. It was annoying that sometimes when youre trying to look at things in a scene that you couldnt take your time and look at things, sometimes the game would force you to continue after a set amount of time. And there were a few instances where I needed more time to pick a response but the game went on without me picking anything.

An interesting story driven game with nice art and cool soundtrack. I like games like this where your choices change the flow of the game. I played this when it first came out and I am excited to play Life is Strange 2. Never played before the storm because I was iffy about the fact it wasn't made by the same people. Probably for the best.

Im not gonna lie, my opinion of this game is probably biased because this game was my life for a period of time in 2008. But nostalgia doesn't always mean something is actually good. I still love it nonetheless.
The game is highly story-driven and has an amazing soundtrack. But, with the remake they brought rebalancing and subsequently made the game too easy majority of the time. Avatar battles are still annoying tho. There is no point to the "cheat mode" they added, its that easy normally.
As a game originally made for PS2 this port is fairly broken and clearly not optimized very well for PCs. Although there are many people who can run the game with out a hitch there are also many who have encountered a ton of problems with crashes and frame rate drops. (even some on high spec computers). Even when you can run the game fine, there are a lot of visual glitches I have encountered.
You should expect to play this game with a controller as very little effort was made to make keyboard and mouse work for this game. The mouse pretty much has no function at all and the keyboard default binds make almost no sense. You must configure your controller through steam settings and they messed up with the binds for the d-pad so you'll probably have to go in a fix that but people have posted threads on the community forums to aid in that.
Also, as an HD "remaster", the character models still look very clunky and the graphics are still very dated looking. It seems all they really did other than make it run at 60 fps and on higher resolution screens, is make the textures on models a little clearer. Definitely not on the same level as the remaster of the Kingdom Hearts games. But KH looked a lot better to begin with anyway.
I am also fairly disappointed that they did not update pretty much any of the desktop wallpapers in the game to 1080p resolution, they just added an image border around the original image to make it fill out 1920x1080.
However, despite my complaints, the games DO get better as you progress through the volumes, and although the game play is a little lacking, and the cut scene can sometimes really drag on for what feels like forever. Im really in it for the story, and I highly recommend the game and watching the related animes as well. The whole series has great music and an interesting story concept with good characters who actually have decent character development.
