I'd say grab it during a sale when it's 5 dollars or less, to get your own experience of it. But I can't recommend a purchase at full price.

I thought Machine for Pigs was one of the most disappointing games I have played in a while. There's no sanity meter so you can just watch the monsters, which removes the fear of the unkown You can just watch the monsters and see how weird the ai can be. There's no inventory so the puzzles are always just walk around a spin some wheels. There's no tinderboxes or oil and the lantern constantly remains lit, which means you never need to worry about resources, and you never feel the tension of being rushed trying to conserve your light. The removal of almost all gameplay elements causes the last hour and a half to drag on, and I was actually waiting for it to end. Lastly, the Chinese Room has trouble telling you a story not in a metaphor, so the story gets dragged down by constantly trying to figure out what they're telling you.
