Dark Souls/Elden Ring PvP Etiquette & Rules (for n̶o̶o̶b̶s̶ new players)

1) Greeting: Mainly to show sportsmanship a proper greeting is used to acknowledge your host/red phantom and that you are ready to duel. Simple bows or waves are most commonly used. Don't run up and attack your opponent while they're in the middle of a gesture. Also, don’t attack players while they’re buffing before a fight either.

3) Estus Flask/Flask of Crimson Tears: Refilling your health bar with Estus Flasks (also called Chugging) is looked down upon in dueling. Players new to the Souls series might find this strange or have an impulse to use an Estus when they're health is low. But there is a hidden no estus flask rule in place for PVP and for good reasons.

4) Fight Clubs: Every now and then you'll encounter something known as Fight Clubs. It will be an arena filled with other phantoms summoned by the host to duel one another. Sometimes it will be decorated with prism stones. Think of it like a gladiator arena where the winner of a duel lives to fight their next opponent. If you see two phantoms dueling it out wait patiently on the sidelines until it is your turn. If for some reason you go for the host expect everyone to turn on you immediately.

5) Fight to the Death: Stay in the designated area and keep fighting until someone falls. Don't run away and hide behind NPCs.
