Previously I have reviewed this game and decided not to recommend this game to anyone simply because for a premium price, I was still getting bombarded with crashes because this game's port is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awful, and you had to download something called "FixAutomataRes" to make the game somewhat playable.

However since then I have tried playing it again and I've managed to fix the crashing issues I previously had, thus I was able to play the game smoothly and at my native resolution of 1440p.

This game literally gave me goosebumps several times, especially on the opera boss fight because that's the video of NieR:Automata I first watched (my pair of grados is part of the reason too though). Other times include other bosses where one of the main reason why I had such goosebumps was because the soundtrack was so good and the scenes leading up to the boss fights were really good, plot thickening and reaching climax, like how my ex-gf would moan so hard right before she comes.

I still stand by my claim that this game is like my ex-gf from my previous review, cause it really is. The soundtrack and storyline doesn't have a happy tune to it, and when I got through all the important endings (A to E), I realize the ending is not a happy one like how my ex-gf and I ended our relationship. I would say, the storyline of this game was some of the best I've ever encountered.

The game's fight mechanics is fast paced which is totally suitable for an action RPG, the levelling system isn't really a grind fest which is a good thing for a single player game like this, the weapon and character upgrades provide a certain level of diversity though each character has their own special abilities and you kind of have to make use of it to go through the gameplay easier. The cutscene graphics isn't the best, and at times it feels like I'm watching a movie made of 2006 3D game due to the really meh'ish quality. The soundtrack is one that you have to buy (and I've bought it) simply because this game's soundtrack is just AWESOME.

It's not too hard to get a full completion of the game, and I've completed all quests and slained all the mini bosses with about 55 hours of gametime.

In terrms of CPU/GPU demands, this game's a little ♥♥♥♥♥♥ on the optimization. At maxed out settings except AA at 2x, I'm getting on average 40-60 fps which isn't really good considering this game isn't really as detailed as some other AAA games like Rise of the Tomb Raider, heck Battlefield 1 looks better and is less GPU demanding than this game.

This time, I'd recommend trying out the game, if you encountered crashes and you can't solve it even by installing the FAR mod, there's *another alternative available to play the game* where in my experience, it was a good one and I have never experienced any crashes during the game, however sometimes the game would crash when you try to open them.

In conclusion, truly a great game. Somewhat wished they had an online version of this. And also wished SquareEnix even bothered releasing a patch of their own rather than dumping the responsibility onto Nvidia or AMD.

My previous review:

This game is a lot like my ex-gf: it has stunning visual, great to have fun with, and you'll enjoy it for a short while until you find out that it has so much issues you just end up 'breaking up' with it.

My first hour with the game was spent mostly on restarting the game from scratch cause of this stupid crash. Ohh and you're not allowed to use anything above 1080p. You have to actually download a fix that will solve the problem. Totally great fix for something that originally costs about $60.

After applying all the fixes and workarounds, I still get this random white screen of death OUT OF NOWHERE, all while not being able to save so I have to start from beginning again, just like how my ex-gf would say "let's start this over" after having a fight.

it starts as an interesting game and as you climb the ladder it becomes an RNG-gated experience. I've put over 4k hours in this game and have reached level 100 and all I can say is the endgame is lacking, build diversity is dying due to how GGG is indirectly forcing people to use meta builds to get through endgame contents.

Don't mistaken this game as hardcore. It's as casual as candy crush saga at this point of the game.

After all these years it's still a decent casual game.
