Beat the game. It's actually surprisingly good! The combat's fast and engaging, and the story is impactful.

This game's good, and this is coming from a guy who doesn't really like MMORPG's. It's easy to get into.

The Evil Within 2 provides a tremendous survival-horror experience. Not only is it objectively better than the original, but I'd also go as far to say that it's on-par with other survival-horror games like Resident Evil 7. The combat is great, the semi-open world is done very well, and the crafting, weapon upgrades, and skill trees are executed very well.

Even if you didn't like the original, this game is a must-have if you're a fan of survival-horror games.

Early Access Review
Not only is this a great game, it's worth way more than the $8 price it currently sits at.

The developers are active and the upcoming Multiverse Update (which will include multiplayer support and a level editor) is bringing much more to the table.

Overall, it's a good horror game. It's photorealistic style sets it apart from the rest. However, the main story is a bit on the short side; it took me about 10 and a half hours to beat it on Normal. However, it's top-notch quality all the way through.

Just... no. This game is complete trash compared to the other two installments. The story sucks. The gameplay sucks. Everything sucks. I wish Monolith would take a break from making Middle Earth games and make another F.E.A.R. game.

And if you really just want to know the conclusion to the series, just watch a YouTube playthrough and save your money.

For $5 this is a steal. It's insanely addictive and you'll be constantly trying to raise your high score. PLus you can view a replay of your top score and replays of other people, including friends who play the game as well.

There is only one achievement and only ~0.1% of Devil Daggers players have earned it; you need to survive for 500 seconds/8 minutes and 20 seconds. It sounds simple enough, until you've actually played the game.

Do not be discouraged when you consistently die less than a minute into a run. This is normal. Eventually you'll get the hang of things, learn what spawns when, what strategies work, and whatnot.

Since there is no tutorial, here's some things you'll have to know vefore getting started:
- Some enemies (i.e. squids, horned skulls, spiders, etc.), drop red crystals.
- If you stop firing, the red crystals will float towards you.
- Collecting 10 red crystals will get you your first weapon upgrade.
- Collect more crystals to earn more upgrades.

- Holding down the "fire" button (LMB by default) will fire daggers much like a machine gun.
- Tapping the "fire" button (LMB by default) will shoot out daggers like a shotgun blast.
- You can traverse farther distances than usual by jumping and and dagger blasting the ground at the same time (tap the "fire" button).

Pros:
- Deep Story
- Decisions Matter (several factors influence the ending)
- Interesting Progression System
- Lots of Replay Value
- Very well optimized.

Cons:
- Game is, from my experience, on the easy side, and I was playing on Hard.
- Loading screens are a bit too long.
- Voice Acting audio quality is meh.

Usually I find games with turn-based combat uninteresting, but this a special exception. Most of the negative reviews of this game are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about the RNG in it, but don't let that turn you off. There are ways to manage the RNG, and you can come back from even the heaviest of setbacks (unless if you're playing on the highest difficulty where there's a limit on how many heroes can die, and that playthough's over). The RNG also works both ways. Yeah, it's possible for the enemy to hit your party with four crits in a row, but it's also possible for your team to dodge every attack that's thrown at you (these are both unlikely scenarios though).

TL;DR: Even if you're not a fan of turn-based games and RNG, you shouldn't pass this one up.
