Early Access Review
Great game already, probably one of the more complete city builders upon hitting early access.

The game's store page description and other comments mention some popular games this has similarities to / takes inspiration from, for me this reminds me a lot of a mix between two other Steam games that were Early Access - Dawn of Man and Northgard. The territory system is really similar to Northgard where you spend food (or gold or influence) to expand with some zones you can capture having special resources or special bonus finds in them like ruins that boost your progression or villages that join you and boost your population, the survival aspects are very much like Dawn of Man where you really need to plan and stockpile for each winter - running out of wood/coal, food or medicine can decimate your population in a single season.

Lots of systems and features are clearly still heavily work in progress, personally I'm not interested in AI at all but would love to see the PvP features fleshed out - I do quite like the influence system as it plays out as if players are rivalling ancient Greek city-states, trying to gain the political upper hand and become more influential/powerful without waging full-out wars of annihilation, but it would be cool to see the game expanded with a pseudo-war system where in the lategame players could build some kind of military outposts or fortresses along their borders with enemies where they can then siege forts and capture each others' territories upon owning all forts inside one. I think something like this would give the game a lot more late-game substance in multiplayer, as right now once everyone stabilizes their economy it's just a race to the most influence until one player buys out everyone else, and territory ownership is too static with no real way to fight another player for a territory they beat you to short of outright conquering them with influence.

I didn't think I would like it at first, but the card system is a nice twist that stops players from being able to spam whatever buildings they want, introducing a degree of RNG while still giving players the ability to choose what they want to build.

Overall I think it's a very familiar yet unique city builder with great potential, particularly being that it already has fun, working Multiplayer I would REALLY love to see the multiplayer mechanics fleshed out and end-game expanded upon.

Solid buy for $30 if you like city builders and know to not set your expectations too high on Early Access games being fleshed-out, bug-free and optimized. Otherwise check back in 6mo and hopefully this game will have been updated and fleshed out so much it'll be a must-buy.

Don't be deceived by the cinematic video or random artwork, Total Battle is a very standard browser-based/mobile MMO "strategy" game where you log on for 5 minutes a few times a day and start timers on building/research/training/marching. Similar to most other games of this nature it's very P2W in that players can buy direct competitive advantages from the cash shop.

Unlike other similar games it's mostly focused on battle (hence the name I guess) as opposed to citybuilding and empire planning which are non-existent. Each player only gets 1 city (that can be moved) which follows a standard layout template so doesn't leave much room for creativity in building.

All of the building beyond your city revolves around your clan - clans build a capitol and fortresses to claim territory on the world map, members inside the territory get clan bonuses when leaders spend clan resources on boosts.

So why am I giving this a thumbs up?

I've been playing it on mobile for a few weeks as a purely F2P player, I haven't spent a single cent but have still enjoyed it. Progression is really slow without spending cash but for a long-term game you only play a few minutes a day that doesn't really matter. If you join a decent clan with players that do spend money you get free cash shop items from clan chests, so you can save up freely gained P2W boosts as long as your entire clan isn't F2P. The "gold" currency can be earned from clan chests and also free daily jobs so if you're patient you can still unlock anything.

I wouldn't recommend trying to be competitive in this game because at the top end competition is certainly decided by bank balance, but for a chill casual game to kill a few mins on here and there it's fun.

I bought this pack just to support KSH following their decision to do the right thing and make the small flight seat free, and I want to say it would be great if Keen focused for a while on multiplayer performance and improving the game fundamentally with new mechanics. I think SE is a good game but could be great. If it supported larger player counts (without grinding to a halt) for example all of the new economy stuff would have a lot more meaning, I still rarely encounter other players on populated servers with just 1 planet. Maybe if they could implement some kind of server grid/cluster feature so player load can be split up based on where they are?

Also Epstein didn't kill himself.

If you ever wanted a sandbox space RPG where you can do whatever and go wherever you want in a giant immersive simulated universe (optionally online with other players in a pseudo-MMO experience) then this game is for you.

For roleplayers, this game is the closest thing you can get right now to an immersive StarWars/StarTrek/etc experience. You can be a trader, an explorer, a miner, a mercenary, a bounty hunter, a pirate, a space bus driver and probably a bunch of other professions I'm forgetting. You have total freedom in what you do, there's a huge variety of ships designed for different purposes that you can customize and fit out to specialise a ship's strengths or account for it's shortcomings. You can take part in galactic war (powerplay & conflict zones) and even influence the background simulation - help powers you're aligned with to expand and take over systems, experience a variety of contextual missions based on what's happening in the local area (e.g. a damaged space station under repair will have some facilities out of action, lots of missions to supply resources or to protect the region stamping out pirates) that cause real outcomes and changes in the universe around you (e.g. the damaged station goes back to fully functional once repairs complete and the system enters an economic boom from all your help)

If you have VR you will be blown away by how great this game looks, absolutely surpasses every other VR-supported title I've played to date in graphics and immersion. Strongly recommend VR and a HOTAS for maximum immersion, but even on a monitor and using M&K the game is incredibly fun and the control scheme is pretty straightforward and easy to use (for a flight game)

Eagerly looking forwards to atmospheric planetary landings and space legs, come on FD!

Really fun and original combination of card + board game. Great depth to deck building and synergy. Big +1 for Linux support, played it on my OpenSUSE Tumbleweed install without any issues.

I'm kind of disappointed though because originally it was going to be a crossplatform game with mobile versions, I sunk a heap of hours into it when I only had my laptop but now that I have a new gaming PC and can play VR etc I haven't touched Faeria - if they got around to doing that mobile port instead of making new DLC I would still be playing it on my phone and probably spending money on DLC/microtransactions

If you're looking for a spiritual successor to Ultima Online, this isn't it. Mortal Online 2 has tons of issues but is a lot closer and better than this junk.

Early Access Review
Easily my favourite VR shooter, feels a bit more polished than Pavlov with a nice variety of weapons and attachments, gunplay is very smooth. Could use more maps and some guns and scopes have an annoying bug where they are black for a few seconds after you look down them. Would also really like to see higher player limits and dedicated/community servers. If they could add support for higher player counts and bigger maps it would be awesome

Fun survival/strategy village builder. Surprisingly polished for an indie game just out of EA, but lacks replayability once you've gotten one or two villages to 100+ pops. If you like village management games like Rise to Ruins, Settlers, Northguard, you will probably like this and I'd say it's worth the $30

Below are basically just feature requests and things I'd like to see in the game
It would be great if they added NPC villages to meet, trade and fight, and most of all MULTIPLAYER would be awesome in this game, it would be great to be able to co-op with friends or play in PVP games where each village can attack each other once they've developed stable economies and a surplus of villagers. Controlling villagers in large groups is super clunky and sometimes they seem unresponsive, which can be really annoying when you have a large village your people are spread over and the raiders are all zerging one side
