Pretty boring cookie cutter MMO. The trailer and the design looking really interesting but the actual game kinda sucks.

The true review:
This really is one of the most fun games I've played since TF2. Everything about is done right.

TLDR - Game looks and sounds great but is so boring.

This is going to be a weird review to write. I wanted to beat the game first to make sure I wasn't jumping to conclusions.
Hogwart's Legacy has everything going for it. An intellectual property to kill for, the artwork is incredible, the presentation is very authentic combining the movie's look with parts left out from the books, sound design that'll send shivers down your spine at times and a soundtrack that puts you right in the world. Not to mention one of the best openings for a game.

Even with all of that, the game is a boring drag. The skill unlocking is done in such a way that it feels like a tutorial that goes on for dozens of hours. The excitement of the classes is soon broken because they all are the same. An intro 10 sec cinematic, a task that requires no skill and that's it. Class over and you never deal with that again. The dueling suffers from the same problem as the movie. No matter how they try to dress it up, your still "POINTING YOUR WAND AS HARD AS YOU CAN!"

Never mind the insane hardware requirements. I tweaked the mess out of this game to make it run well with my 2080. Upgraded to a 4080 and it still stutters at times.

I can say that the atmosphere is soothing as it definitely put me to sleep at times. If you managed to skip the hype and not buy, good for you. Would not recommend even on sale.

I didn't realize just how soothing the sound of a rolling skateboard is.

Every now and then, a game comes along that is much more art than game. This is one of those masterpieces. And make no mistake, it also happens to be a really well made adventure game. I cannot recommend it enough.

Definitely one of the best games I've ever played. I don't know why I played half of it, waited 2 years and then finished the game. It's on the short side but with art this good, you won't be disappointed.

I recommend everyone try it out just for the very unique art style. Myths I'd not heard of before mix into a cool experience. 8 hours and I'd beaten it with all 3 characters. Cool little romp while it lasts. Smash Brothers controls minus the smash so about half the moves. Get it while it's on sale.

More of the same side scrolling beat-em-up fun from the first.
Part 2 overall seems easier. More healing, money is earned much faster (and lost slower), leveling happens faster.
Whether that's good or bad is up to you.
I'm only a couple hours in but by the end I expect the game will have been too easy to beat. I enjoyed the challenge of the first. We'll see.

Awesome game but know what you're getting. It's not very long and it's not very hard. But it looks amazing and the gameplay is tight. Obvious buy if you're a Kurosawa fan.
