Cultist Simulator is very special product, from a special creator.

Alexis Kennedy is a master of words, he produced content, stories that is, for Sunless Sea and Fallen London - games that have a cult following, even if said cult is not very big. He also did content for other things, but those two are the most relevant for the moment.

For many, most alluring things in said games is atmosphere, and in this game Alexis shows just how great he is at creating atmosphere. From small snippets of text on card to music, to interactions, this game is really good at making you believe that you are, in fact, a leader of the cult in veneration of strange, alien gods, with minimal amount of visual medium.

Cultist Simulator oozes flair, from how you affect your cultists all the way to what actually happens to you, this game manages to convince you that you are actually a cultist of eldritch gods. It all starts innocent enough - you dream of other places and read arcane literature, then you realise that you actually need to break into someone's home to steal some arcane trinkets of them, and then you are reading arcane lore and realise that you need a living sacrifice for your next ritual. It all happens so fluidly that you never really stop to think about what exactly you are doingm untill you step back and actually think upon all of your decisions throughout the game - and then it dawns on you, what a terrible person your character is, and that you actually became a leader of cult that you've probably stopped so many times before in games like Arkham Horror or Call of Cthulhu. Truly, corruption of arcane arts is insidious.

It's also worth mentioning that while some things may seem cryptic at first, this game has a very detailed lore, that opens itself up as you study work of people who came before you, through their book or expedition locations.

If all that I've mentioned is appealing to you - I suggest you try it out. It's worth it.

I really like this game, however queue times are unbearably long, from 7 to 45 minutes sometimes.

Quite nice, since it free.However I forsee nuke-force nerf incoming.Necron Lord currently shadow every other hero in game, sometimes combined.
