The majority of people who are complaining about performance either:

Run the game on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.
Decided to download the 100K save to "test" their performance, instead of playing the game like a normal person.
Haven't turned of unnecessary/demanding graphics settings. (like most people do when they load a new game)
Think this is Valorant and feels the need to be play at 4K 144fps.

Right now the game feels a little bit shallow and there isn't a lot of incentive to play beyond city Level 10. Hopefully future free updates and DLCs fix that.

Had an unexpected power cut and now my 200 year save file can no longer be loaded. ♥♥♥♥ that.

Modernized mechanics, graphics and gameplay. If you're a fan of the earlier Age of Empires games or you simply have an interest in warfare history - this one is a must have. The story-rich campaign is great with amazingly well produced cutscenes/videos that are unlocked as you progress the campaigns. This is also a great release to get into the RTS genre with enough training levels to introduce you and improve your skills in various stages of the game.
