Honestly feels like the smoothest, least janky, most interesting "Souls Game" that FromSoftware has made so far.
It also winds up feeling the *least* like the rest of the Dark Souls series thanks to the amazing open world and non-linear gameplay and exploration.

As far as visuals go, it's incredible. Both the open world and the more contained dungeons have the same incredible sense of artistic quality as any of the other amazing areas portrayed in FromSoftware's other titles..

The sense of scale in Elden Ring is honestly mind-boggling. No only is the main overworld just enormous, varied, and visually stunning, but there's also so much more than meets the eye when you get to certain areas and see just how much more there is really is to explore and discover. Hard to go into without too many spoilers, but it really is just amazing once you realize just how massive the world is.

If you're a fan of the Dark Souls series this should be an instant buy.
If this is going to be your first foray into FromSoftware's type of game design, this is going to be a very interesting starting point in my opinion; it doesn't exactly feel like the Souls games in terms of it's gameplay loop, but I think if you enjoy the combat of this game you'd have a great time going back to play the Souls games later on.
If you dislike the Souls games, whether its the combat or the difficulty this probably won't be for you. But if you were bothered by or bored of the linear gameplay then this will certainly feel like a very fresh take on the series.

Overall, I've been blown away and I'm only about 7 or 8 hours in, can't wait to keep exploring!
