The game lore is very grim, mysterious and deep. Feels like a clone of Isaac Asimov himself wrote it. I can recommend the game to anyone how loves space SciFi genre.

The Game Mechanics have a lot of good "inspirations" from the FTL. But feels, like it took them to the next level. Hexagrid feels very "board-game"-like. Amount of different officers, weapons, squadrons and events ensures the unique run every time. I played this game on iOS, but didn't like phone controls (which are done incredibly well, but can't compete with keyboard+mouse). So I bought the game second time in order to dive in the lore with more comfort :)

But also, every run you discover something new about the universe, which make me want to play it again.

TL;DR:
Perfect FTL "sequel", amazing lore.

I just have spent 2 hours exploring the amazing world and looting undersea temple. Was so hyped to return loot after last island and get gold and exp. But while I was on the island, another player sank my ship. I killed him on his ship, but he re-spawned in 15 seconds near me and killed me from the second try. I didn't even have time to sink his ship, let alone reload and heal.
So he got all my 2 hours worth of loot risking nothing. If he died and had his ship sank, he would have just gone pirating again without consequences.
The problem is, this game does not encourage exploring and quests completing. Since you can lose everything to people who risk nothing, and get piles of my gold.

Developers are planning to add private servers in December 2023, but they will cap exp and gold gain at 30%.
The game is "grindy" even now at 100%. Which is unreasonable, since all "meta progress" is purely cosmetic.

The game itself is cool. And I love playing it with a girlfriend and/or couple of friends. But it is so frustrating to be robbed. And I cant even report the guy, because his play style is encouraged by game designers. I am so frustrated, I want to cry. Please go play some DRG and relieve yourself from this fraud of a game.

Yes, the game is hard. But you will learn from every death

The game starts easy and pleasant.
But after few chapters puzzles become too convoluted and hard to comprehend.
I love the coop. But this game is almost impossible.
If you create such complex puzzles, at least add an ability to see your partner's screen. (like in portal2)

Bought the game, because couldn't finish Dead Cells.
First run, I got DeadCells Prisoner Skull and died to DeadCells Giant-like boss.
Recommend.
