great game.
played with a friend as i did with most of the previous titles.

performance is fine.
if you can't run with the "high" texture setting it will look significantly worse.

great tool for pixelart.
very easy to use.
sensible defaults. fair price.

purely based on gameplay:

yes, it is an amazing game.
the best gunplay i've experienced.
a lot of options to build your guardian (tho at times the meta builds are bland, but at that point it's your own fault for using it).
the puzzles in dungeons / raids are very nice.
difficulty is also perfect, with the added challenge of legendary for some of the story campaigns.

now the bad:

bungie removing content is just bad. in no world is this a good thing.
in general the studio has made some questionable choices with how they handle monetization and so on.


why is it still on recommended?
because i recommend the game, not bungie.
as the game currently stands, it is an enjoyable game.
i do not involve myself in politics behind the developers, when looking for games and other hobby related things anymore.
if a part of a community is toxic, just ignore / avoid it.

i know my time is pretty low, but that is because the game just isn't for me.

doesn't mean that i don't appreciate the artstyle and gameplay.
wasn't for me, but could be for you.
give it a try

only gripe is that even if i put my mouse against a ruler, my input still somehow jumps around and is skewed, making the 600 point challenge a pain that i just don't want to commit to.

highest score with that annoying jitter was 550

can't press 2 inputs at the same time, because 1 just gets ignored.

and ofc there is a section at the end where you see nothing of where exactly you should land...

i'm not a masochist, so a no from me.

It's just a cheap nintendo switch port with some upscaled textures, but same geometry, so that your 20 polygon rock has a nice texture; it still just looks unnatural.

wirebugs an addition to the game i just don't welcome, because it takes away the punishment for getting hit.
it makes this game feel more like a beat'em up rather than a classic monster hunter game, where a 'normal' human fights against super powered animals.

the weapons also feel like toys, with how the animations show them being handled with no issues. it doesn't feel as powerful when you hit a monster with a greatsword as it felt in previous titles.

it may be the best monster hunter game for some, but if you are looking for a more 'classical' approach to the monster hunter formular which also looks a lot better, then just get monster hunter world and iceborne.
