It's pretty much the same game as Crusader Kings 2, but quite a bit more polished. The things they did change (favors/hooks, map&UI behaviour, dynasties, perks) does feel well-thought out for a veteran of the series. If you're not obsessed or want to play with your friends I'd say wait till it's on sale. For people just starting out, it's definitely worth it!

Early Access Review
If you are into the city builders like Cities: Skylines or TransportFever/OpenTTD, this game is definitely already worth the price. The graphics will probably never be AAA but are quite charming, and the simulation depth can go from "relatively simple" to "rather complex". I definitely enjoyed my time so far!

If you liked Splinter Cell, always sneak in Skyrim and played Deus Ex without a single kill, this is the game for you. Interesting storyline, great gameplay and there are 500 player-made new levels available already. Get this game, if you haven't yet!

A truly addicting game. Even if you're not that into role-playing games (like me) or not that much into Fantasy (like me), this game and it's immersive world will still capture you and bind you for hours.

Albeit the depth of the simulation is astounding (You can twiddle around with a lot of stuff) and the city feels huge, everything else around it is just... not great. The AI regularly behave extremely dumb (for example running into you while you're turning in a narrow street), the board computer is super complicated to use (...and I can calculate 10-2.20 myself, thanks), the stock version only has a few lines it makes me jot down a bunch of numbers just to get going anywhere. And don't get me started on the steering, it's unintuitive and (as another reviewer pointed out) feels like driving a shopping cart. The game lacks any real form of tutorial (apart from "Press these buttons to start a bus" and "Press Up to accelerate"), so that drives the frustration-meter up even further.

I would only recommend this game to someone who has a veeeery high frustration tolerance.
