08 DEC 2023 | 14 MONTHS SINCE SHUTDOWN | 1 YEAR MILESTONE

On December 8, 2023, the online servers for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 , along with several other EA games, were officially shut down .

This marked the end of online multiplayer support for these titles, effectively retiring their online services.

The Venice Unleashed community [discord.gg] stepped in to keep multiplayer functionality alive through Project Rome, an unofficial alternative Master server [veniceunleashed.net]
