Since MS Flight Simulator 5.1, I've been flying in virtual airspace, so I'm very excited there is finally a successor to FSX!

First of all, don't expect to receive a fully polished and stable training environment. The 'game' is still very much in development. I think it's great that Dovetail offers us the opportunity to fly along as they're building this next gen flight sim environment.

First impressions:
- Without any configuration, it looks good straight out of the box. Just don't compare it to FSX with tons of add-ons installed.
- The stock planes have lots of eye candy and the flight dynamics feel accurate, but again, you can't compare them with add-ons like for example the GA aircraft from A2A.
- It FEELS like the Flight Simulator environment we've grown so familiar with in the past decades, and I like this! You will feel right at home.
- I very much like the pilot profile, statistics and the way all of your flights are logged.

Performance:
With everything maxed out, my framerate occasionally drops below 20 FPS in the vicinity of heavy scenery areas with lots of AI traffic. Most of the time my framerate is above 40 FPS. Even with the beautiful raindrop effect, the simulator performs very well.

To-dos:
- I would like to see more documentation and manuals for the stock aircraft. Also a kneeboard with general info and checklists would be nice.
- There are much things missing in this version, like a detailed weather engine, detailed flight planning IFR/VFR, (moving) map, ... but then again, it's early access.

Conclusion:
- If you're looking for an instant replacement of your current stable FSX environment, then this is not for you.
- If you want to fly along as Dovetail developpes this great next gen flight sim, then this is very much for you: buy it! It's quite a bang for the buck if you ask me.

Nice to have an up-to-date version of this timeless legendary game.
