at the time of writing, i have completed the main game and most sidequests with a friend in coop.

on the surface, there seems to be value for money. if you buy the deluxe edition, a friend can tag along for free, so it's not too bad.
On the other hand, the game kind of sucks. It sucks in the way that you can feel parts of the DNA of Wolfenstein, and the level design seems somewhat carefully created (and reminds me a ton of Dishonored) but it's all just less than its inspirations. Guns feel light and unresponsive, the difficulty goes rapidly up and down depending on what enemy decided to get its ♥♥♥♥ together and not take damage, the quips from the protaganists are endearing at best and tiktok at worst, and there can be no redemption for the story and the writing of characters. It's a mess, and you can't take five steps without a door that requires both players to "Army of Two"-style cooperate to open it. Most of my time has been spent with doors, but the main story is about 3 hours if you're not very good at shooters, and probably an hour if you have some decent reaction time and the sense to somehow find the quest objectives in the big semi-open maps that you don't have an actual map to navigate.

if you want to play a cheap, lazy sequel to a well-liked series, play dead rising 3 instead. While that game gave me tommy wiseau chuckles, this one frustrated me far more than anything.

I've left my previous negative review at the bottom, but Arrowhead really deserves the thumbs up. Even after having unlocked whatever needed unlocking, the game keeps on giving. Fair monetization model, perfect use of a live service model, and exceptional gameplay. Throwing yourself off a cliff after dropping a barrage at your feet because a big ol robot swiped you off your feet while you were about to toss it - immaculate. Friendly fire happens, and it's fun. just a fun lil game that keeps on giving despite its otherwise semi-samey mission structure. Buy it and play it, dude.

the game is still blocked/delisted in 178 countries by Sony. While they walked back on their PSN requirement, they didn't let the PSN-locked regions back in the fold.
Personally, I don't care much about PSN, as I have an account already, but giving all these people a taste of Arrowhead's incredible game, only to take it away?
very very not nice mr sony.
Sony publishes a lot of cool games, but it must be a constant frustration for the developers that Sony is also like a big idiot conglomerate.
If Sony wises up some day and removes the blockade, then all will be swell.
Until then, shoutout to Arrowhead, but negative review for Sony

this is a great game. i love the shooty, the scooty, the objective-oriented patootie.
but it's definitely made for rich people and gacha game enthusiasts. i invited one of my friends to play, and we had a hell of a time. pew pew, acab, the whole shebang. then he asks me about skills and perk decks and i go "oh dude try this perk deck"

only one of them was not dlc

i started sweating. most of the weapons and masked were locked as dlc for me, so i thought i was playing vanilla.
i own 41 dlcs.

there are a total of 82 dlcs.

i realise i bought the "ultimate bundle", but ultimate is only half of the content.

tl;dr
OVERKILL studio, much like their swedish ancestors, create great products but unfortunately like to kill and plunder

you'll see the little warnings about depression and suicide and think that things are scary right now comrade, but

they're gonna get way worse

pretty good, even though TT t-posed on a dead kid one time, but that's what gonks get when they can't huff paint and rip & tear with sick ass arm blades.

probably wait for a sale if you aren't a massive E.Y.E fan or dont have enough money to blow on a sorta bug-o AAA title

edit: at 293 hours i can safely say that trauma team has stopped t-posing on the dead children

look.

this game is off the hook. take all you think you've thought to know about card games and puzzles, and put it in the bin, and find it replaced with the cruel longing for enlightenment and ascension beyond the human form.

after several singleplayer funtimes, decide to try out multiplayer:

get into mission
everyone is screaming
meta streumonic forces are torn asunder by above-average chromosome keepers
brouzouf gains beyond astronomical numbers

made new friends that day.
this game is immense and advanced, but nothing for the experienced autist
wholeheartedly recommended

it's a game about physics and explosions and deploying over a thousand troops with all kinds of crazy weaponry to battle everyone and everything. even crabs, ♥♥♥♥♥
