May be best to wait for updates to the current systems before playing.
Solid base and a mildly enjoyable gameplay loop.

Fun & Free

Although many mistakes have been made in the decisions Activision Blizzard King made while developing Overwatch 2, I can't in good faith leave a bad review for this free to play game.

The micro transactions are over-priced, but not pushed onto the player as aggressively as some f2p games.
The matchmaking can be slow when queuing at non-peak times.

I would try this game if you enjoy team-based first person shooters, and you'll have a better time if you queue with a friend or two.

I'd followed Teardown's development since the late beta stages, and as someone who enjoys watching satisfying videos of soap being cut on youtube, this game was perfect for me.

The amount of control that you as a player have over the environment is immense, and so it should be,
as this is the main focal point of the game. (Or at least it was for me)

I thought I'd never touch the main campaign but after learning that i'd have to to unlock the tools that you can use in the sandbox mode, reluctantly, I started the first mission.

The campaign quickly grew to be one of my favourite parts of the game, each mission more challenging than the one before, I progressed and unlocked many of the items that I was looking forward to using in the Sandbox mode. This was far from the chore I initially pontificated it to be, I relish in completing the objectives, and speedrunning the stages.

The raytracing is also very nice and I enjoy it a lot more than I thought I would, it's the cherry on top of the cake, the physics engine combined with the raytracing are the perfect match and enhance the gameplay experience.

I pre-ordered this game, but I rarely buy games that aren't on sale.
I think the full price is more than worth it, if you don't think so, I implore you to try out the demo.

Overall, Teardown's sandbox mode is relaxing, where as the campaign can be tense and as satisfying in a completely different way.

I'd give it a solid 9/10 overall.

I've been playing this game since launch and I really must tell you that this game's genuinely worth your money and time.

The updates have been free and very fun for the most part, It's not going to be updated anymore by the developer but this shouldn't put you off from trying this magnificent game out for the first time, the game's experience of gradual power creep that many of us are used to when it comes to game is very satisfying and I never felt like many of my deaths were the game's fault, but instead, my own.

The weapons and equipment are very distinct from eachother and I was constantly looking forward to the next gear upgrade, it's very fun to farm bosses for a low-droprate item you're looking for, if I had to compare this to something i'd likely compare it to farming a boss from a World of Warcraft raid boss to upgrade your equipment, however, I think Terraria does this better than WoW, this is because much of the gear feels unique and provides tangible power increases that you'll instantly be able to feel as soon as you equip them.

The Bosses are one of the many highlights in Terraria and I must say they live up to expectations (even on multiple playthroughs). You'll start off having trouble on the Eye of Cuthulu, but by the end of the game you'll still be grappling with the difficulty of the Wall of Flesh, moreover, the powerlevel scaling over the game is done masterfully, you might think it'd be hard to balance the power creep when Terraria doesn't have "levels" but instead has better weapons, gear and higher levels of health and potions that you'll either learn to craft, find in the many underground treasure chests or rely on your friends to figure out for you.

Terraria is great either Singleplayer or Multiplayer. They're a different beast and i'd suggest trying out both by either getting some friends to try out the game with or joining some fun multiplayer online games.

The building in this game is also really enthralling, you'll lose many hours of your life if you enjoy creating beautiful houses and apartments for the various NPC villagers you'll come to rely on in your Terraria game.

Many people compare this game to another game (created by Mojang). However, I think it's not a great comparison, Terraria has taken the whole "2d minecraft" idea far beyond what you'd expect and it's truly a disservice to the game to compare the two.

The Music in Terraria is funky as hell, it's got a fair amount of brilliant beats that'll make their home in the deepest recesses of your brain only to surface to dance on the waves of mind like a bouy on a moonlit ocean.
It's a fitting soundtrack and you won't be able to think of the game without remembering the ambient sounds of the capacious caves or the dank dungeon, and i'd have it no other way.

This often overlooked xbox title found its way into my steam library almost 10 years ago, and subsequently found its way into my heart as a bonafide classic.

Psychonauts is one of the best platformers of the mid 2000s ranking up with the likes of Okami, Super Mario Sunshine and Spyro. Doublefine and Tim Schafer knocked it out of the park with psychonauts and it's often overlooked in the sea of amazing platformers released in 2005.

Each level is lovingly crafted around storied characters and amazing art direction. The designs of both the characters and the levels they inhabit ooze personality, the gameplay is fantastic, it's easy to get lost in the bizarre world of Psychonauts, thanks to it's age it's very fairly priced as well and it'd be an insult to your steam library if you didn't buy it at such a low price point.

The voice acting is top notch and each voice actor deserves all the praise in the world for their roles (some highlights for me included Rasputin, Mila and Coach Oleander). Each voice actor flawlessly delivers tonnes of masterful voice work for many optional parts of the game that you may never hear, true fans will seek out all of the unique Mr. Pokeylope voicelines from each individual camper.

The graphics still hold up fairly well compared to many other games of the mid 2000s, it's brilliantly designed and many levels stand out thanks to their incredible art direction, one of my favourites being Black velvetopia.

The story is enthralling and engages easily. It cleverly takes turns and twists in the least expected manners, as you venture through the messy minds of many of the inhabitants of whispering rock psychic summer camp you won't know what to expect next as both the environment you're in and the characters around you change dynamically depending on which part of the game you're currently at. It's a joy to scour across the camp after each mesmerising mission, as you never know which minor characters may have been up to while you've been jumping through someone else's psyche, following these side characters short stories between levels quickly became a favourite pass time of mine between brilliant levels.

The open world of whispering rock psychic summer camp is inviting and rewards exploration with meaningful powerups in the form of the collectable PSI cards and PSI challenge markers, if you enjoy searching for small secrets in secluded parts of videogames you'll absolutely enjoy powering yourself up with these fun collectables.

The soundtrack by Peter McConnell is simply fantastic serving its purpose as an amazing audio backing for some of the best gameplay i've ever experienced. Every track (in particular The Milkman Conspiracy and The Meat Circus) fit the game so well and I can't ever imagine playing this game muted, a lot of games I play I listen to music on Spotify or maybe play a podcast while gaming, but with Psychonauts its tracks really tie each individual stage together in their quirky charming way and you might find yourself humming a few choice songs while walking around the house, and that's a real testament to the impact the audio has combined with the brilliant voice acting, art direction and stage design.

in 2006 Psychonauts won the BAFTA for Best Screenplay and playing the game it's easy to see why. Overall this game is a strong 9/10 with every element of it's production oozing charm and personality from start to finish. I personally can't wait for the much anticipated Psychonauts 2 and I immensely enjoyed the spin-off VR title the Rhombus of Ruin.

Please check out this game if you enjoy amazing platformers from the mid 2000s with hilarious writing, astounding artwork, engaging storylines and sensational voice acting.

Rec Room is one of the VR experiences I think everybody with a VR headset should check out as the multiplayer aspect is really fun, it's a chill game and gets updated fairly often. If you want you can also join your own singleplayer room and mess around with fun VR tools. It's free as well so you have no excuse to pass on this gem.

Skyrims kinda janky, but if you install a ♥♥♥♥ tonne of mods to make the game good (not paid mods bethesda). It's actually a really fun experience, I really enjoy using magic in VR, the archery is also excellent, the sneaking can be a bit janky as well but well it's a bethesda game what do you expect? Overall i'd say check this game out if it goes on sale, otherwise there are better VR games out there made for VR from the ground up, although it's refreshing to play a game that has a long singleplayer campaign in VR as most VR titles tend to be 1-10 hours at most.

Along with The Labs, this game makes a perfect first-time VR experience. If you enjoyed Portal or it's sequel and have been thirsting for more of the wacky world of Aperture Science and you own a VR headset this game is perfect to start out with. It's a bitesize experience filled with robotic humour and brilliant voice acting, it's fantastic to watch the individual finger movements too if you're using the knuckles controllers too. Check it out as soon as you get VR.
