The other Armored Core games are some of the ugliest, ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, most frustrating things I've ever had the displeasure of playing but somehow this one is actually incredible in just about every single perceivable aspect.

Favorite FROMSOFTWARE game of all time.

I'm a MARVEL fan with a vague interest in Overwatch, so for me this is a perfect game that I will sink a lot of money and a lot of hours into.

It's really fun but also really unbalanced. Then again, so was the beta but they ironed out the character's that had issues from the beta REAL QUICK. Black Panther used to suck ass and now he's one of the strongest duelists in the game. Wow, the devs actually listened to the feedback they received in the beta and did something about it. Wow, the premium currency system isn't complete ass like other games. Hopefully that means this review will stay positive, even though the game crashes constantly and runs like complete ♥♥♥♥ sometimes.

12/6/24: pls nerf hawkeye and also moon knights ankhs but boost his other ♥♥♥♥ and you will achieve nirvana
12/28/24: wolverine needs a buff. healing factor. something. let him get his health back quicker if he can make it out of a skirmish alive so he doesn't have to rely so much on the healers because they need to be focused on the tanks not logan.
2/19/25: human torch was just announced today and i already need you to nerf that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ass character.

GO INTO THE SETTINGS ON THE MAIN MENU AND SET YOUR BINDS TO LEGACY! Trust me, you do NOT want R2 to be the button you shoot with since you have to mash that button as fast as you can to survive some of the boss fights in this game.

It's nothing like that one AVENGERS game (as I originally thought) but more like a JEDI: FALLEN ORDER / SURVIVOR style game set in the MARVEL universe with typical Square Enix style combat.

I honestly forgot this game even existed until I saw it in my friend's library when I keyword searched for "MARVEL" and it is absolutely one of the coolest things I've ever played. I vaguely remember this game being announced a while ago but I never saw any gameplay or anyone talk about this game AT ALL and I don't get why not. The needle-drops give me chills. The facial animations are some of the most lifelike and endearingly expressive I've ever seen. The textures are so tangibly realistic I feel like I can mentally reach through the screen and touch the surfaces of these environments; from the cold slick spaceship interiors to the wet and rubbery vines that drape across the first planet you visit. Everything is done so unbelievably well.

I am writing this review very early into the game, but I already I feel an attachment to the rest of the team members and I genuinely like every one of them. Even though they *do* talk constantly talk over each other, I still enjoy listening to whatever they're yapping about. Plus, the Telltale style branching narrative story "Groot will remember that" mechanics keep you engaged in the conversations because you have to make dialogue choices that bend the narrative in unique ways. It also helps that the writing is consistently laugh-out-loud hilarious.

I can't wait to beat this and then immediately play through it again.

Dragon's Dogwater

This is not so much a beat-for-beat recreation of the original RE4 as it a sequel to the remakes of RE2 and RE3 with only a few elements appropriated from the 2005 version. So if you like those other remakes, you'll absolutely love this. This game also reminds me a LOT of Batman: Arkham Asylum with the way the levels are connected together and littered with secret treasures, so if you like that game DEFINITELY give this a shot. Like the original RE4, this game takes a while to get good. I wasn't having a *great* time up until I reached Chapter 8 or 9 and I started to feel like Leon was adequately equipped with enough weapons and upgrades to take on waves on enemies while protecting Ashley. There's still a few things that bug me, like the knife having durability, the Last of Us style pseudo-stealth segments, and Ashley getting in the way, but there's no doubt that the game Capcom has crafted here is pretty top-notch and deserves a playthrough.

One of the best games I've ever played, but why do I have to take Tony Stark on a romantic fishing date to get a -4 Damage Reduction buff for him for one round?
