she Bennett's on my Foddy til i "Getting Over It"

it may just be me, but i found this game extremely relaxing.
"Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy" tells a story, but there is something special about the story it tells..
it tells no story. and its beautiful.
at the start of your climb, you have nothing but yourself, a pot, and a funny naked man inside said pot.
you start off with nothing, and nobody. you subconsciously put yourself in the man's place, and try to move right, as tis your first thought, your first instinct is to try find something, and get somewhere. you will always be looking for a destination in life without even knowing.
you will eventually meet your first obstacle, being a withered tree.
in a sense, your first obstacle mirrors yourself in a way, and is arguably the most spiritual part of the game.
it mirrors both how you feel at the start of the game, and how you will feel at the end.
dead, alone, and uninteresting.
your only thought about this tree, is how its an obstacle in your path, and nothing more.

and so you climb...

you move past the tree, leaving it alone as nothing more than a fleeting memory as you continue on your path, trying to find your destination.
after the tree, which once seemed like an impossible task to some, you reach the foot of the mountain.
then, a new face appears.......
Bennett Foddy.
he acts as your guidance, your support, and your friend throughout the journey.
Bennett Foddy, being there for you is as sure as death. no matter what happens, he will always be by your side.
you, yourself, and him.
as you try to climb, you may fall, you may lose progress, but you wont lose heart.

and so you climb...

you climb and climb, it may feel like you are taking one step forward, then four steps back; but eventually, you no longer take any steps back.
and so a new character appears in this journey.
your emotions.
you are never the same person, every passing day, you are somebody new, and you can never be who you were again.
change is scary, but change is good, you need to keep on going never stop climbing, always changing, life wont wait and neither should you. the scenery looks different? good. difference mean progress. progress mea-.....
you need to keep on climbing...

and so you climb...

you find out a lot about yourself, in this game.
you find out a lot about your emotions, in this game.
you find out a lot about life, in this experience.
you may find yourself, in this journey....

and so you climb...

Bennett Foddy, will start to tell you about himself and this world.
that man in the pot? his name is Eugene.
you will hear the story of why this game exists. you will hear stories, upon stories, upon stories.
you may even start to get tired.
you run out of juice.
your energy starts to sap away.
you dont have that same motivation to keep on climbing.
you may not have found your destination... but you found a friends.
some feel satisfied here. most dont even get here. this is a game with multiple endings which you get to choose yourself.
a pick your own adventure type experience....

and so you climb...

you get attached, its no longer just yourself.
you are not the same person as you started, its not just you, yourself, and a sexy naked man in a pot.
its you, your emotions, Eugene, his pot, his hammer, and MR. Foddy.
as you climb up the mount-

and so you climb...
and so you climb...
and so you climb...
and so you climb...
and so you climb...
and so you climb...........

eventually, it becomes a blur which merges together in your head.
a blackout of the highest calibre as nothing interests you anymore.
the changes in scenery all look the same now.
you have lost all feeling. numbness takes over you, as you mindlessly continue up. not even taking in the characters youve made yourself love.

you realise that its all you.
or more accurately, your emotions.
they, made you care.
they, made you motivated.
they, built you up.
you are not the main character. your emotions are.



eventually, youll reach a fork in the road. the "snake".
Bennet Foddy will tell you the destinations of both paths.
you can either continue climbing, and reach your destination.
or you can take the snake, bringing you alllll the way back to beginning, and reach your destination.
.....
personally.. i took the snake..

and so.. you fall.
you fall, and fall, and fall until you reach the very start. where it all began.
next to that tree.. the broken. withered tree.... just like you.

tree's are a symbol of life and new beginnings.
this tree, in reality has already reached its destination.
it reached it long before you had even seen the tree.
the tree severed its purpose, and now its corpse remains standing, never falling, forever strong.
even after death, its stronger than you were.
better, than you were....
you can take anything in millions of different way.
this game, this "review" and the tree.
each person, at each time, will view something as something else.
giving up isnt inherently bad, either.
going downwards, in this case, will always mean something else climbs upwards.


and so. we climb.


the mountain doesnt tell a story... you do.
