Honestly, this game has turned out to be a genuine surprise. I honestly beg you not to let yourselves be fooled by the game's preview images, not even by any leads you could get from the store website's description: Golem Creation Kit is much more than its basic premise. It's truly a narrative-guided game, it's gameplay core being pretty basic but tremendously fun once you start thinking about all of your possibilites as a golem creator. I'd say it was this basic layout that bought me in the first place, since it took me back to my childhood favourite games, those which only a bunch of clicks on interactive barely-animated hotspots were needed to keep me entertained for hours, as long as the story sustaining the whole experience was good enough.

And this, my friends, is Golem Creation Kit's strongest point. OMG does this game have ONE hell of a good story...

I cannot really reveal any details of it to you, because any sort of spoilers would be a crime against this title. I'm being honest here though: if you're a fan of touching characters, surprisingly good plot twists and stories that get deep into you, please, just give this game a chance. You won't regret it. From now on I can declare that young naive Fil, irreverent Qork and the mysterious Lady in the Mirror have gained a place within my personal list of favourite videogame characters.

And in case none of this has still convinced you to get this game, then let me add something else: the developer is a REALLY nice dedicated guy that has invested a lot of time and effort from minute 1 since I announced the several bugs that almost prevented me to enjoy this touching tale. If that alone doesn't grant him the chance he deserves, I don't know what else is going to do.

Seriously. Golem Creation Kit is worth your time and money.

RESEÑA EN ESPAÑOL

Sinceramente, este juego ha sido una verdadera y genuina sorpresa. Os pido de verdad que no os dejéis engañar por su aspecto o ni siquiera por lo que la reseña de su página de la tienda os pueda indicar: Golem Creation Kit es mucho más que su premisa inicial. Es un juego muy guiado por la narrativa, con una premisa jugable muy básica pero tremendamente divertida en cuanto te hace pensar en tus posibilidades como creador de gólems. Creo que su sencillez fue precisamente lo que me enamoró: me trajo de vuelta a los juegos que jugaba durante mi infancia, ésos en los que un puñado de clicks e interacciones con objetos básicamente animados me bastaban para disfrutar, siempre y cuando la historia que sostenía la experiencia era lo bastante buena.

Y ése, amigos míos, es el verdadero punto fuerte de Golem Creation Kit. Su historia. Porque este juego TIENE historia... y es deliciosa.

No puedo daros detalles de la misma, porque cualquier spoiler sería un crimen. Pero os lo digo en serio: si os gustan los personajes entrañables, los giros sorprendentes de guión y las historias emotivas que te llegan, dadle una oportunidad a este juego. No os vais a arrepentir. Desde ya el inocente Fil, el irreverente Qork y la misteriosa Dama del Espejo se han ganado un hueco en mi lista de personajes favoritos de videojuegos.

Y si todo esto no os convence, dejadme añadir un motivo más: el desarrollador es una persona REALMENTE amable y dedicada, que desde el minuto 1 ha invertido tiempo y esfuerzo en ayudarme a resolver los diversos bugs que estuvieron a punto de impedirme disfrutar de esta experiencia. Creo que sólo por eso se merece que su juego bien merece una oportunidad.

Lo digo en serio. Golem Creation Kit vale la pena.
