Because of the new PSN requirement, this review was negative. For those who don't know they made it mandatory to have a PSN account or you can't play the game after late May. Community managers say that it wasn't their decision it was Sony's. The problem with the PSN account is that Sony had some problems with user privacy and security because of that players don't wanna share their personal info with Sony and most of the players who bought Helldivers 2 cannot create a PSN account because a PSN account cannot be created in their country(most of the player base are not from that 62 supported country)

From the start game is great. And what they have been doing was great about the unexpected attention that get from the gamers. They fixed the servers( it was a 250k limit on player count they made it 800k ish ı suppose). They always tried to patch the game and were aware of its community on Discord. They opened player polls for future update wishes. Their CEO is very communicative and tries to be transparent about the things that the community asks. Most of the patches fix a bunch of stuff but because of the unintended player server limit count it makes many more problems in the game than normally would. Even in the recent event with the PSN, they are trying to hold the community together.

Now for the fun stuff game itself. As I said game is great. First of all the references. The game is highly inspired by Starship Troopers for its universe and environment. For factions, you can see the inspirations from Warhammer, Star Wars, Starship Troopers, and Halo probably. Armors are designed to be inspired by other popular brands or just reworked versions of the first game.

The game is giving us two factions. Cybe-ahem Automatons are just robots with few extra steps. They come in specialized units and recon/scout teams. They are organized and have fierce firepower. Their unique commander-type enemy can summon additional backup to the current team. So you only need to spot that guy but with their rocket launchers/artillery/machine guns/lasers, it can be hard. Stealth should be your way to go. Their unique objectives are creating anti-air systems for their ships, destroying Sauron's eye (radar), air bases, artillery, EMP radars, and outposts.
Tyra-ahem sorry Terminids are just bugs and they are evolving per minute. They come in hordes of bugs heavy armored/giant/elite soldiers/artillery/flying/regular most of these types can summon new hordes so you need to kill every last one of them. Because of the infestation, they are spreading in higher difficulties as modifiers you can't see most of the map in the minimap, and/or because of the infested clouds your orbital strikes scatter. Most of their bases are hives with holes that spawn new enemies. Their unique objectives are stalker and shrieker bases that you need to destroy and spore spewers that cover your vision with thick fog. You need to destroy their propaganda stations, and research labs and destroy their hives.

Now let's talk about what you do in the game. The game gives you this simple training mission and lets you go to your ship. In the ship, you can customize your character, and get new upgrades, weapons, or skins. All of the upgrades, weapons, stratagems, and warbands can be unlocked by just playing the game. You can call your friend to your ship and start your mission together. There is a massive war and your missions have effects on it. With each successful mission, you can help liberate the current planet that you are playing on. Missions have 9 difficulties. With each finished mission in difficulties, you unlock the next difficulty. The difficulty gets scaled with enemy types/variants, count, map size, optional objectives mission modifiers, and mission count. For instance, in easy difficulty, you have one mission to complete and light-armored enemies the kill. In hard difficulty, you have 2 missions to complete and each mission has light/medium and rare heavy armored enemies to kill. In mission you have strategies. These are your extra support on mission and you can have 4 of them with their unique inputs. You can call extra firepower, air strikes, orbital strikes, minefields, mechs, supply drops or turrets. They have their own cooldown and special effects.

For the gameplay. The game feels great. Movement animation and feels are very similar to metal gear solid 5. Most of the weapons have their weight over your character and you can feel it. Each weapons have different or less different play styles and have different types of approaches to killing enemies. You can shoot hordes with shotguns, focus on important targets with rifles, have some crowd control with explosive and slug weapons, anti-tank weapons for heavily armored enemies, etc. Or you can just ignore everything and use only a flamethrower. Strategems are easy to use and the input system that comes with it is a fun little game that feels like typing a cheat code. Friendly fire is on and can't be prevented. Most of the mission scenarios are chaotic, charming, exacting, and unpredictable. Each mission has its own unique moments and stories because of the people you are playing with. Teamwork is the key to success in higher difficulties. A team with friends is key to total chaos.

Optimization is good for our time but can be little hard on medium specs in higher difficulties other than that its working good.

Tldr game feels great works great, have some bugs, great community and developer team. Has great weapon system and in game purchase system. Pathces comes irregular but frequent. Warbands comes ones in a month.
