I don't often write reviews, but ugh, this is rough. I've been playing Civilization since around 1 and 2. Some of my absolute favorite games, and each one that would come out, I immediately loved. But this game... wow.

The UI is bloated and confusing, I keep getting crises despite seemingly having great happiness (I guess if one city is unhappy my entire civ suffers endlessly?). Choosing a leader and a separate civ is interesting, but also having to change it through each age is frustrating. It feels like you make so much progress in the game only for it to be taken away from you in all sorts of ways (changing civs, losing units, etc.). You can't queue the tech tree or automate exploring. Notifications are not straightforward. The age victory conditions seem pointless. It feels like selecting different techs and culture is fairly meaningless.

This is not Civilization. This is someone who wanted to make a Civilization wannabe and failed, horribly.

But hey, the map looks pretty.

Unplayable. Continually stuck at the first checkpoint, whether I'm smuggling items in or not. Saved and exited, came back to the motel, still stuck. Guard asks for my papers. I provide papers, then the guard says "Let's see..." while the other guard looks in the boot. Then...nothing. Every time. Have attempted to give my wallet. Not an exciting game when I can't do anything.

A boring and repetitive memorization and guessing game that attempts to be spooky. I was never spooked. I was hoping for one of the things in the game to take me away from it in real life.

This game is unplayable for me. It will not save my progress two-thirds of the time.

I last reviewed this game in November of 2021. Back then, I enjoyed the concept of the game but felt it was difficult to play because of the bugs.

I finally picked it back up as of March 2025. And I have to say... I love this game. It feels much more polished. The story-lines, combat, romance, graphics, weapons, are so well thought out, beautiful, and so much fun. I feel myself caring for people in the game. The nuanced dialog changes certain aspects of the story.

This is essentially a futuristic, more raunchy/graphic GTA. And I'm enjoying this more than I had GTA V.

A very different take on the turn-based RPG, and one that very well displays the magnitude of the struggle of the Warsaw Uprising.

I had anticipated this game being released, but as i'm playing it, it certainly needs polish. The story begins very slow, then once the action began and it was time to mount a horse, the horse very quickly became stuck on a fence and I couldn't move.

A very intriguing and visually beautiful game. It takes a while to get the hang of it. The controls are not explained, at all. To understand the gist of the game, you either need to spend an extended amount of time attempting to learn, or read up on it. Once you do get the hang of it, it's a very interesting puzzle game. I was able to acquire all achievements. I absolutely love the visuals. I really do recommend this game, although I would understand your initial frustration.

I don't post many reviews. Extremely rarely, actually. But in this instance and for this game, I feel I must.

I didn't know what to expect from this game at first. This is my first encounter with Telltale Games, and I love Minecraft. At first I thought I would not be interested. It is a lot of key and mouse clicking followed by watching. But the story grabbed me. It grabbed a hold of my feels and it never let go. I felt myself caring for these characters.

I bought this game when it was still the initial episodes, and I gladly purchased the DLC. The DLC was never intended to be part of the original game. It was a gracious addition by the development team and I am supremely glad to support them.

This game brings back a lot of memories of the original on the NES. It was one of my favorite games. This new rendition is beautiful and fun. The one qwerk I have with it is the extremely repetative dialog and long cutscenes.
