Completed the first quarter (the free part) of the game in 90 minutes with no hints or assists (which this game has).
It has currently 3 DLC that more parts to put together.

Free, cute art, and fun.

The gameplay is decent, reminiscent of euro worker placement board games; but the presentation is ... lacking.

Kinda weird that this game is being sold on Steam for more than double the price of the same game on Google Play. ($9.99 vs $3.99). Buy it on sale.

I'd actually prefer this game to be a physical board game that I can shuffle up and play rather than a video game. Maybe with a legacy option where you open packets with new cards that you can shuffle in during future runs.

I recommend this game for people who enjoy strategy games.

I bought this game on sale, and loved it so much that I 100%ed all achievements.

I highly recommend this game to people who enjoy cooperative first person shooters.

I wanted to give the devs more than the $15 I'd spent, so I bought all the cosmetic DLC to support them. But yeah, for 15 bucks (on sale), you can get EVERY game play element. The DLCs are purely cosmetic and don't add any weapons or classes.

Great game, great story, great soundtrack.
Fun rogue-lite ARPG, expect each run to be between 25~45 minutes.
A controller is highly recommended.

(I initially used an XBox 360 controller, but my hands literally hurt. I didn't have any problems after I moved to using the Steam controller.)

Took me 108 hours and about 97 ~ 98 runs to 100% all achievements.

It's okay, reminiscent of old tug-of-war flash games like "Age of War" (Google Store[play.google.com]).

It took me a little over 2 hours to complete the 3 campaigns in the base game.

There's achievements and stuff that you could shoot for, but this game didn't really hold my attention for that long.

I bought the game knowing that I enjoyed Hidden Object games, and the absolutely adorable art style.

As a game, the puzzles were simple, but their simplicity meant that the story kept flowing. I'm pretty sure this was a deliberate decision so that people experience the whole story.

And what a story it is... I am crying right now. T_T

What do I do with all these feels?

This Idle RPG is tedious as heck and you barely make any progress in the offline mode.

There's a microtransaction store as well -_-;.

There's better idle games out there like Cookie Clicker, Universal Paperclips, or Kittens Game, that have a fun Idle experience without microtransactions while also telling an interesting story.

Pass.

I am a fan of God Eater, having played the original on the PSP, then the sequel on the Vita, then this, God Eater 3.

I love this game's focus on quick and deadly boss battles. Other reviews might compare this to Monster Hunter, but Monster Hunter is a slow burn, while God Eater hits the pedal to the metal; Adrenaline, go! It is not uncommon to finish a mission between 90 seconds to 5 minutes. The quick missions also mean that it's an easy game to play in chunks - get a couple of missions in 10 minutes, then go do something else.

That said, the entire first chapter is kinda slow. Trust me, the game gets better after the middle of chapter two. I guess those missions are there to teach folks who are new to this genre the mechanics of the game. Which there is a LOT of. There's just a myriad of mechanics and systems. I can imagine it overwhelming newbies. It is definitely not friendly to people new to gaming.

Just listing a few off the top of my head, you have to juggle your HP, OP, STA, Items, Burst Gauge, Burst Moves, Team Mates' Abilities (fully customisable), Link Burst, Engage, Elements, Status Effects, 8 Melee weapons' quirks, 4 Ranged weapons' quirks, 3 Shields' Quirks, Custom Bullets, Guarding, Perfect Guarding, Crafting, Upgrading, Installing Skills, +1 & Forging Skills... All while figuring out the enemies you're fighting.

While this can be overwhelming, it provides great depth to the game. You will come to enjoy a playstyle that suits you. In my 51 hours to get all the achievements in the game, I've basically only used the Longsword (main weapon), the Buster Sword, the Shotgun and the Tower Shield. I'm definitely mulling a New Game+ where I try out other weapons.

There is a theme of self improvement that can be found in this game. The joy you get when you defeat a monster solo, without taking a single lick of damage. Then you remember way back when; you actually went down fighting it with a team of 4. You've improved. :)

This game has multiplayer, and It's competent (There are mega boss raids with 8 teammates where you sometimes pair with other folks (the remaining slots are filled with AI), that are quite fun), and I'm sure this game'll be a ton of fun if you are playing along with a friend.

So, if you want a game where you (and an optional team) fight over-sized monsters in fast paced combat, this is the game for you!

This game is fun. I knew it was a mash up of things I like, and there's a lot of fun things to do here.

For folks who enjoy something with a slow burn, I highly recommend it.

I finished my first playthrough in 18.6 hours on the second difficulty, with a victory.
(I bought the DLC as well, so there's additional side story content, though I didn't start it until in middle game).

While playing this game, I was getting vibes of "Protostar: War on the Frontier" from the story, while also feeling a bit of Masters of Orion 1.

Its strengths include:

- A fun combat space system

You haven't lived until you have a Hasted, Cloaked, Tactical Commander with a Revved up Chain gun who is laying down RIGHTEOUS HOLY FIRE unto your enemies. It is not uncommon to see it lay down 4500 ~ 6000 damage between enemy turns.

- Intrigue and Storyline

The story, and side vignettes were enjoyable. :)

- Nice pixel art and effects

Its weaknesses are:

- Ground Combat is too dang deadly. Ensure you are either massively over-levelled or have the Officer Cloning Labs up. One unlucky crit might kill your superstar.

- Diplomacy feels hollow, not fleshed out.

- The Tech Tree is needlessly crowded and badly designed. It'd be better suited as a single Tile for (say) :"Tier 1 Ships // Upgrades (6/12)", and you could click that to open an accordion tile with all the upgrades listed.

Things I would like:

- Would be nice to be able to re-spec officers (Maybe at the Officer Training School, with a scaling cost depending on Officer Level)?

- I have a ton of resources late game with nothing to spend it on. It'd be great if there was a way to sink those to level up my next crop of officers faster; or maybe leave them as lures to spawn pirates for them to fight?

- Have an "Encyclopedia" available at all times, including the main menu. This should show concepts, ships (that you have unlocked through gameplay), officers, races, lore, etc. Think Civilopedia from the Civilization series.

- Despite the tech tree looking so crowded, there's actually not much depth or breadth to it. I'd like some meaningful decisions to make here as opposed to "lol unlock everything lol"

---

See you folks in run 2 on a higher difficulty. :)
