EPIC Game

AFTER you buy, the game, the DLC's, the VIP, and the premium Rods, you learn that the premium rods will eventually fall apart, and you get to buy them again...
SCAM - Run away

78 Hours played, with a few restarts, lvl 23 out of 25, nothing left to unlock, VERY VERY easy arcade fishing, not much to learn.
Pay once, play forever.. suuure, then suddenly.. DLC comming.. micro payments/DLC hell, same ol same ol.

Nice easy game, no fuss...

After almost 1000 hours, an update was implemented, that gave items bought before the update, for irl money, a 40-50% debuff, basically making it worthless, yet the reply from developers, was: 'game is not setup for refunds of any kind'.
This game is 'pay-2-play', to a degree that makes fishing planet look free.
Developer support: not existing.

VERY enjoyable game, 99/100

This game have MANY issues, gameplay and otherwise i dont like.

- Servers are shut down every day at 09:00am my time, for 'Maintenance', anywhere from 30 min to 2 hours+
- Information from devs, on major gamechanges, and/or updates, are limited at best.
- Rumors of future changes, and future account wipes are many.
- You can file Bug rapports, but never get any reply, or confirmation that it is taken care of.
- New players get no tutorial, no information.
- Developers rely on current players being live support/tutorials in the in-game chat.
- Game has 2 ways to play. PvP - where everyone attacks everyone, and PvE - where nothing attacks you. Yet Devs clearly favours PvP, and lets PvE more or less rund it self.
- Any and all patch notes, are posted to steam, hours after they are implemented.
- Lots of small annoying bugs.
- And around 34652389746 other things not listed here.

Despite all this, i played some 1300 hours, this makes no sense, you might think. And looking at my list above, i kinda agree, BUT...

- The game looks great.
- Boarding defenceless traders? yes please..
- Trade runs.
- Clans, and doing fleet missions. Just you, and a few of your clan members against a fleet of evil pirates.
- The first time, you fire a full broadside of a Santi, that hits juuust right.
- And so much more.

In short, i love this game, i know its has issues, but i still love it.

(Review is based on 99,9% PvE playing)

Pros:
VERY addictive gameplay.
Looks VERY nice (a few glitches here and there)
Lots and lots of ways to combine different tackle/reel/rods.
Free to play (it really is)

Cons:
Unlocking new locations requires way to many XP.
fish are to predictable, once you get the time of day, location, lure, and technique down, you can grind XP in 'no brain' mode.
DLC's are WAAAAAAAAY overpriced. - Maybe cheaper DLC's, with fewer things, like maybe a rod/reel set for 5 Euro, or something to that effect.

All in all, i give it 9/10 - based mainly on the very addictive gameplay.

like another review said 'i really wanted to like this game' - Very disappointing, thank you steam for a free weekend, you just saved me money :-)
