Early Access Review
I'll go ahead and preface it with the obvious fact that I was a kickstarter backer. While I can assure you I try to be as objective as possible, you'll have to make up your own mind.

Let's go ahead and begin with where we are currently:
The game is in early access, and isn't as bug-free as some people would like. Personally, it's on par with my experiences with early access games. Considering where we came from in the alpha kickstarter group, we have come *so far* in such a short period of time I can't help but be optimistic about the trajectory.

Some of the good:
This game scratches my factory/automation itch pretty good as it sits right now. There's more to come, but what is there now is actually playable.
The music is phenomenal. A thousand kudos to the music team.
The alacrity of the dev team in pushing updates often is *such* a welcome change. Keep it up guys!

Some of the bad:
There's bugs. Lots of bugs. So many bugs, you'd think you were playing Helldivers II. But as I mentioned above, updates come often, and are constantly squashing those bugs. Not to get all "it's early access" about it, but seriously it's early access and this state is not unusual.
Research is a little clunky. You need lots of green research early in, but have no way of creating it. When you do get all the research tree completed, "You have not selected a research" occupies the upper left corner of your screen forever. For. Ev. Er.
The surface mining doesn't make sense, to me. I understand that's where the game designers wanted us to end up, but the whole thing is so glued together that it does detract from the experience. You have to use the rovers to scan for deposits, move the MDR to those deposits, tell it to mine, then you have to have a cargo truck that you tell to go collect resources from the MDR. The MDR doesn't ever "detect" that the ground it is on is mostly slag, it just keeps spitting slag-filled regolith into its cargo bay. It'd be great if you could set it to stop mining when X material become X% or less of the mining input.

Some other thoughts:

I've spent 500+ hours on this game. For someone who mains Tarkov, spending 500 hours over a few weeks means I am VERY distracted from Tarkov by this game. That's usually a good sign for the game, in my experience. The gameplay loop is formed, it'll probably get tuned a bit more, but it's there and it's fun in my opinion. As it gets tuned, it'll become more fun.

That being said, this doesn't appear to be some folks' cup of tea. If that's you, set it down, give yourself a reminder to check back in a month or two, and go enjoy something else. At the rate this puppy's moving, we'll be light-years past where we are now by then. Life is too short to force yourself to do something recreationally you don't enjoy.

I hope this helps you figure out whether or not you want to become a factory manager on the moon.

After a full 24 hours of playing this game, I cannot in good conscience recommend it.

Of my 8 playthroughs, 7 of them crash the game when "End Turn" is pressed, blocking me from any further progress in those campaigns. The 8th one is still new, and hasn't had time to get to the point the other 7 are at.

There is no Immortal Empires option. This is a HUGE disappointment as it rewards those who have played through Warhammers I and II.

Alt-tabbing crashes the game, there's no borderless windowed option at 2K or even 4K resolutions, and the randomness of the rifts keeps you from progressing for dozens turns at a time.

I really did enjoy playing Warhammer I and II, but III is just... half-baked.

Very fun, not too hard to grind out boosters. Worth a try if you've ever played Magic.

Only launches as minimized, when I try to bring the screen up it just re-minimizes itself.

Save your cash, buy something else.
