Death Howl is one of the most unique deck-builders I've played in a long time. Combining the strategic depth of card-based combat with a hauntingly atmospheric soulslike world, this game creates an experience that is both challenging and deeply immersive.

The art direction is stunning—dark, eerie, and drenched in shades of red, perfectly capturing the oppressive and sorrowful tone of Ro’s journey. The soundtrack adds another layer of immersion, making every encounter feel intense and weighty.

Gameplay-wise, the mechanics are solid. The deck-building system forces you to think carefully about every card you play, rewarding strategy and adaptability. Enemies hit hard, and battles feel meaningful, not just a series of mindless encounters. The difficulty is fair but punishing—every mistake feels like a lesson rather than cheap frustration.

Even though this is just a demo, it already feels polished and promising. If the full game expands on what’s already here, it could be one of the best indie titles of the year.
