This game is fun. Played the few tracks that were on the demo and immediately wishlisted it. Glad to see that the rest of the gameplay did not disappoint. This is most definitely a game for Rhythm Game enjoyers, as it offers a lot of good songs for it's price.

There are a few minor gripes I have, but they are negligible in comparison. I will still say them as I believe at least some of them might want to consider them.

A minor nitpick is that the story is nothing to write home about. This is of low importance in rhythm games anyways, but the intersecting story elements didn't really do it for me. I also want to say that this is purely a personal opinion and the story elements don't take much away from the game, so if you are someone who enjoys stories of coming-of-age and becoming a star, it's an added bonus, even if it's rather flat.

The music has no vocals and very long tracks. I would recommend checking out one or two songs from youtube to see if you enjoy the music, because the game tends to stick to it's rock genre. I was also more used to rhythm games that use cut-down tracks or short versions, so I was a bit surprised to go into such a marathon with some songs. It doesn't take away from the quality of the tracks at all, but it might be a deal-breaker to some. So, long tracks, rock heavy, no vocals.

Finally, and this is a minor gameplay issue I should be posting in the forums about, so this point will be removed if it's addressed, but it did annoy me, but the special combo (when the stars turn blue) remove the visual indicator where the next hit marker will show up. This might have been on purpose, but on harder difficulties (for example the bonus songs) the screen muddling with stars makes it difficult to see the correct order.

Overall, I very much enjoyed my time with the game! I'll continue to play and perfect it and I think the team has done a great job making something that just fun and enjoyable.

Like Hi-Fi Rush, but I didn't have money for that. Just kidding. It's good, check it out.

Tightest controls, amazing boss fights and characters, brutally difficult in a way where no mistake was ever the game's fault. This is a good game. Buy it.

If you ever felt the craving to play a Ubisoft Open World game, buy and play this instead.

The game can run like ♥♥♥♥, it is a very poor PC port, even after the fixes. It's buggy, with stuff that can will have you force close the PC. It has a launcher that can fortunately be circumvented by launching with certain parameters and afterwards can be disabled in the menu. Some parts of the game are very tedious for very little gain.

Now in the way it differs from a Ubisoft Open World game, is that it has one of the best ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stories I've had in a video game in years. Mafia III is gritty, dark and doesn't pull any punches. I felt fully immersed in the story and world because for the timeframe it was playing in it was absolutely believable. All the characters felt real as hell, like I was actively following their story. For the first time in a long time, I actively looked forward to the next break by a story cutscene because I wanted to see what would happen next, I wanted to see Lincoln just be the brutal, ruthless person who doesn't give a damn in a BELIEVABLE manner, stellar acting and voice acting as well btw.

The DLCs are great and give some good change up when the gameplay does get monotonous, I'd recommend starting with Faster. Baby, because it gives good rewards and a way to get good money, which is hard to come by. Gameplay wise the game suffers from a few bugs and bad AI, but it's more fun to look at and not quite immersion breaking, plus I didn't experience anything that made the game actually annoying.

This game is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sleeper hit. I'll just say it again, if you ever felt the need to play a Ubisoft Open World game again, just play this instead, it's definitely worth it.

It was fun, however with the most recent update it seems to now require an EGS Account to simply run the game, even in singleplayer. Unacceptable move on both Epic's and Square Enix's part.

This game has only one mode and it's brutally difficult. Other than that I think the idea to have to somehow juggle typing 20-character words while dodging Touhou-Level bullet hells is definitely a mix that should never be attempted again. If you really want to pick up this game, don't be proud like me and use the trinkets if it's getting too tough.

The music slaps though.
