You have to be an actual god to S rank Mortal Combat on expert.
I thought they wanted to add a level builder at some point?

A real shame its an auto runner.
Also no character has a different moveset except tofu boy.
I unlocked every character, whichrequired me to beat the game THREE TIMES via NG+ which resets your progress and randomly generates new but very similar levels out of pre-built checkpoint segments.
Longer levels but way fewer than the original.
I expected more when I bought this. Grinding was very tedious, not exactly what I would call fun and replayable.
Thats why no recommendation from me.
Play the original instead.

This was the first game I ever played over 10 years ago. Now I am more than twice as old as I was then.
To this day PvZ is still one of my favorite game franchises.
But the first game will always be the best (partially because its not filled with micro transactions)
Still grinding endless until I die. I am at flag 1300 currently (every 10 flags take 30mins)

Great game 10/10

Cuphead has a very unique visual style and a wide variety of tracks. It is easy to learn, but hard to master.
If you have average skill you should be able to complete the story without much difficulty (few levels might prove rather difficult and you should expect to take at least 30min for some) Those who want a real challenge can prove themselves in expert mode which is a difficulty option unlocked after the final boss and essentially serves as NG+. Getting all S-Ranks on all bosses in expert mode will definitely take a lot longer and a lot more skill then the main campaign playthrough.
Multiplayer is quite fun but also chaotic (you can only play local co-op)
All achievements are easier to complete than true 100% (meaning S-Ranks which are not mandatory for achievements)
For someone like me, (a completionist who likes to challenge himself) Cuphead has much to offer, almost comparable to Hollow Knight.
Only thing missing is a boss rush. I also wish it would get more DLCs (one isn't enough) then it would be perfect!
I'd give Cuphead for the game it tries to be (meaning only comparing it with games like it) an 8.5/10

After 757h all achievements and 1 complete Repentance file / 1 complete Afterbirth+ file, I can safely say that the game is addicting. It can get frustrating at times with certain unlocks, but it is rewarding when you eventually make it. For fans of Rougelites this game is a must have. Also, mods exist for replayability purposes, making the game harder/easier or changing it entirely. Here is some template i have copied: (but filled in myself)

There is some hidden Lore that should interest every The Binding Of Isaac player! Also its a bit much at first, but when you get the hang of it, there's nothing stopping you...
