The scenery is amazing, the mechanics are amazing.. but the story kind of sucked, it was kind of short, and all around wasn't that scary and had little to no jump scares where they would've been amazing. It leaves a lot up to speculation, and it answers some questions at the end, but you don't even get the full picture of the story.

You're looking for a kid, you get lost in an eerie forest, people start dying to this murderer, you discover strange forest creatures, you kill said strange forest creatures, and then to wrap it all off, you become the exact murderer you were trying to stop. The dog simultaneously dies and survives, and nothing actually progresses in the story. You don't even know what happens to the boy.

--- SPECULATION ---
I bet this is based off the Blair Witch Project, which admittedly I have never actually seen. However, I feel that if that's the case, they should've diverged from the original story and made theirs much much more unique. They set the game up like it's going to have a sequel, which would be cool. I am not going to watch the movie to actually find out.

Why not? If you aren't looking for a game that's too scary, but for some reason you still want to play a horror game, this isn't too bad. It's not a huge time sinker, either. It's something I would recommend playing if you're bored one night and have a bit of steam cash just sitting in your wallet. That or you have some friends just hanging in Discord (none of mine wanted to join).

I genuinely did not enjoy this game. I don't know what it is, but it just doesn't "feel" good to me. The controls feel foreign and the story is, to put it vaguely, uninteresting. I couldn't actually play this game for too long because of this. This may not apply to others who play this game.
