Absolute perfection all around, from art and music to writing, narration, game mechanics and depth- wrapped in unfortunate company dealings.

Controls are abysmal. Game is pretty and seems fun, but I can't manage to deal with the controls.

There are 3 seperate buttons used to 'confirm'/interact with things; the [INTERACT] keybind is used to, well, interact with things like shopkeepers and buy things, yet you hold [UP] to open chests and walk through doors, and [DOWN] to pick things up.

In the pause menu, you press the [JUMP] keybind to interact with a button (or click with your mouse, which is not allowed as an input device for any keybinds) rather than the *interact* button.

In the in-game inventory/status screen, the keybinds are yet again randomized; pressing [INTERACT] moves you between the tabs, and in the item inventory specifically pressing [JUMP] selects an item so you can rearrange; to equip something you need to hit... [MELEE ATTACK].
Why?

Using a playstation controller through Steam also is fairly functional- I had to restart the game once I plugged it in to get it to work, but it works fairly well except for one glaring issue; there are NO context indicators for keybinds, which I'm assuming is due to issues with how it ports from the Steam menu. This means that I, in my first run, trying to equip my first piece of loot, now have to guess which button I'm supposed to press, knowing that 3 different buttons do the same function the [INTERACT] button should and *could* do. This is ontop of pathways and items having their own 2 ways to interact with them, raising our actual total to 5, which I think is too cluttered.

cool game, although PC controls can be a bit wonky, ie. having two interact buttons AND a confirmation button on 3 seperate keybinds, with the confirmation button also activating your healing consumable if theres nothing to confirm.
