new character does not speak english and is difficult to understand. this is important when playing in public games for calling out special enemies. perk deck is nothing special, micro uzi is just another mac10 clone.

unless you are willing to pay 5 dollars for the ability to cut cloakers (uncommon enemy that can 1 shot you in melee range) in half (exclusive to this one character, so if someone else already picked him, too bad) with a specific weapon (you must use the katana to do so) don't bother getting this. maybe snag it on a steam sale if you're really curious.

PD2 started out solid, from an independent game studio. that studio has, over time, proved that they don't listen to their player base, extorts their customers with high priced DLC's (each one seemingly more lackluster than the previous) while ignoring problems that have plagued the game since the beginning (or in some cases, addressing fixes by making them part of the paid DLC). now they've added microtransactions (after previously stating that they would never do this).

don't waste your time with this one, unless you manage to snag it for like 2 bucks. used to be a fan of this studio, but after a couple years of excuses (and even a 20 dollar DLC that didn't really give you anything, which is essentially a donation to the studio) i have to say the experience has left a sour taste.

the backlash from this horrible business might have a lasting impact on the gaming industry. only time will tell.

UPDATE 3/16/16 : so glad to see that overkill is still asking its player base to pay for crossover DLC and rehashed old content instead of creating something unique and worthwhile. keep up the good work OVK.

UPDATE 6/23/16: microtransactions have been removed, with the acquisition of the game from 505 to Starbreeze, the developers have finally heard the community's overwhelming hell no. hopefull this is a valuable lesson, not just for overkill to learn, but for every game developer. i still cannot fully re-endorse this game however due to the massive amount of lackluster overpriced DLC, and OVK's awful track record of not giving a damn what the community thinks or wants. this review will revert back to positive if the next 3 DLC's cease to be overpriced, and are no longer paid cross-over DLC.
