Didn't grow up with Genesis games, but it holds up to shoot-em-ups like Iridion 2 on the GBA.
Would recommend.

THE GAME:
It fun. More Dragon's Dogma and it doesn't make compromises to appeal a broader playerbase. If you didn't like DD1, DD2 won't be for you. Same gameplay loop as the first game, travel around with your party and slay monsters with different classes and skills.

MTX:
You're probably already aware at this point, but the entire situation is misrepresented. Everything in the DLC can can be acquired in game easily for free. Except the camping kit, but there's a better one available in game anyway, which makes it kind of useless. For fast travel it's ferry stones that limit you, not port crystals. There is no ferry stone DLC.

PERFORMANCE:
5600x/RTX 3070 8GB (1440p)

Frame drops in cities, but I'm getting 60 in the open world which is the bulk of the game.
VRAM is a bigger issue than horsepower when it comes to the GPU. I have 8GB and had to juggle settings to get something that looks good. More than that and you'll be just fine. Less and you're going to have problems.

It's a great game, but you really do need a 5600x or better and at least 8GB VRAM

Also you'll need graphics set to Progressive, image Quality +1 from center and FXAA+TAA if you want avoid a pixelated image. (Would have preferred an AA option without TAA, but there isn't one)

Early Access Review
I expected it too be the typical early access jank, but with how it's blowing up I decided to try it anyway since I could just refund it if it sucked.
It's actually a genuine game with a lot of work put into it. Tons of monsters that are all modeled and correctly animated. I have no idea how an indie developer managed to pull this off.

This is what I wanted from a modern Pokemon game. Well, I never asked for guns and cannibalism, but I'm ok with those too.

NOTE: Runs 30fps on Steamdeck (unless you lower all the settings)

Initially surprised by how few commands there are, but after playing more it didn't bother me. The real draw is the fast combat. It feels much closer to Smash Bros Melee than it does to something like Street Fighter which I actually like. I don't think there's another other game that scratches the Melee itch after the direction Smash went since Brawl.

Nails the anime aesthetic better than any other game to date as well.

Came for the coom, stayed for a surprisingly fun Metroidvania. Looks great and has some plenty of skills, items, outfits and... uh... 'animated sprites' to find/unlock.

Quite a new negative reviews from the LGTV people because they don't like its definition of 'gender', ignore them.

Had to stop playing because the room my computer is in is too mall and I kept hitting the wall. Hopefully there are some good options for wifi headsets soon.

Probably the best game I tried for how the swordplay feels. Parrying attacks with a sword is really fun, just wish enemies were a bit more aggressive to you could do it more. Also noticed that the heavy your sword is, the slower it moves, which is a nice touch. Not by by much, but enough to make you notice when you have to make some quick moves.

The mod update looks pretty crazy, might have to risk breaking my controllers and punching holes in the wall.

Early Access Review
Very wholesome and touching story. This game taught me how to treat my sister better.

You already know what this game is about. Move on if the themes are not for you, there are plenty of other games you could play instead.
