Just an incredible game overall, really. Almost everything was great, and the downsides didn't really have too much of an impact on the overall feel.

Pro(s):
- Absolutely gorgeous and large map. Ever area has it's own general 'theme', all of which are beautiful, and there's just enough points of interest scattered around to make it feel full but not overwhelming
- Pretty good stories. Not only the main 'Odyssey' questline, but the DLCs (Lost Tales of Greece, Legacy of the First Blade, Fate of Atlantis) also are pretty good
- Allows you to see the history and origins of the Assassin Brotherhood (Legacy of the First Blade DLC) and Templar Order (Cult of Kosmos)
- Despite the fact that the RPG part isn't too enjoyable, all the legendary gear looks really nice
- Lots of side activities, whether it's hunting down the Cult of Kosmos, defeating Mercenaries, or exploring the vast world, and lots of side quests.
- Choice of Protagonist, you can play as the guy Alexios, or the girl Kassandra, depending on what you prefer (if you prefer to keep your game experience as close to 'true' story, Kassandra is the canon protag.)

Pro/Con (Person-Dependant):
- Long Game, even longer if you want 100% achievements

Con(s):
- Leans way too heavily into the 'RPG' aspect. Near the beginning of the game you'll be swapping gear almost every level just for that tiny boost in stats.
- Requires Ubisoft Connect

I feel like Pyre will either be one of your absolute favorites, or one you hate, no in-between. The entire game is essentially 50% visual novel and 50% unique sports game, but there's plenty else to love about it.

The Positives:
- Beautiful Artwork throughout the entire game
- Great Cast of Characters, each with their own personalities and backstories (playable and non-playable)
- Every rite (match) feels different due to 1. The vast customization, consisting of character selection, talismans, and masteries, and 2. the different map layouts and strategies used by opponents
- Easy to learn, takes a bit more practice (which will happen through the game) to make better strategies
- Very easy achievements for the completionists. With the plenty of guides out there, even the 'hardest' achievement (Beat a Master CPU with 6+ Titan Stars) can be made trivial.
- You physically cannot lose the game. Of course, you can lose a match, but when you do, the story just continues, and your opponent beating you is now written into the course of the story, in fact, you can lose every single Liberation Rite (the 'boss fights') and still successfully beat the game and see the ending.

The Negatives
- Unless the gameplay of the rites is appealing to you, you likely won't have much fun in the game, as the story consists of switching back and forth between fight and VN
- No Online PvP: The Versus mode is exclusively CPU or Local (KBM/Controller)

Overall for me was 10/10, but in general i'd say its a 8.5-9.5/10

I've now beaten the game, all I have left are the two achievements for <3 hour completion and hardcore completion. And I've got to say, it's a good game.

It's certainly a shorter game as you can see by my playtime, but its a good few hours. The movement is extremely fluid throughout all the tricks, and as you go through the areas more environmental obstacles and enemies are introduced, keeping things interesting as you play.

I found the story and lore to be not exactly engaging, but fun to read. There's the plain story of how the Ultravoid and Starseed and all of that work and the ending of the game, but there's more information if you keep looking. There's a series of journals around the map that tell the tale of an adventurer, there's caches stashed everywhere that tell the tale of fellow Voidrunners, and there's even 3 character-based sidequests that tell you about the tragedies of the Ultravoid.

Overall, it'd say its a good game, and rate it maybe an 8/10, but definitely wait for a sale as I don't think its worth the $40 price tag.

Steam Awards 2023: I've nominated this for Outstanding Visual Style, and with the current Autumn Sale it's honestly a great time to pick this game up.

Seeing how I've now 100% completed the Main Game and The Heist DLC, I felt its time to write a review. There's already been endless amounts of high praise for the original game on PS4, so I'll be focusing more on the Remastered aspects of the game and the PC port.

With the PC version being the Remastered PS5 version instead of the original PS4, besides visual upgrades, there's a few more suits in the game, which is always welcome, and a new Peter Parker facial appearance. Personally, I think the new version looks more 'Peter Parker' althought I can see the similarities people talk about to the MCU's version with Tom Holland. And then there's the 3-part DLC with extra storyline including suits unlocked through them. Overall, the remastered choice is definitely a good pick.

As for the PC Port's quality, i'd say Nixxes did an incredible job at it. Even at lower graphics settings, the game still looks fantastic, so if you can meet the minimum requirements you'll have a fantastic experience. The controls are still fluid despite playing on a keyboard compared to the controller it was designed based on. Once I learned what button did what it was pretty easy to pick it up quickly and everything felt fluid. The only time I only had the game truly 'lag' was when I was on essentially the highest graphics settings and if I quickly swung to another area almost right after opening the game, but beyond that it was seamless.

Overall, i'd give the game a 9.5/10, as the final act felt like it went a little too fast, and the PC Port a 10/10.

Having just completed the storyline of the game, I've got a lot of things to say about Neon White.

To start, will this review be biased? Yes, I have waited over a year for the game so there is 100% bias in here.

Anyways, the game is great. I love all aspects of it. The story is surprisingly great and had a lot of unexpected moments that I didn't see coming. Through building relationship with other characters in the game and progressing through the story, you learn more about White and his past life, which is more deep than you'd guess from taking an initial look at the game. The OST, made by Machine Girl, fits so well with all aspects of the game, and is fun to listen to just on its own.

Time to talk about the main point of the game - speedrunning. Of course, with this being the focus you can tell the game technically has "infinite replayability" simply because you keep trying to beat the game in less and less time. However, the amount of levels (over 100) as well as the types of them and environments keep running the game fresh, and theres even post-game modes specifically built for speedrunning.

My review (once again, probably biased) for Neon White, is that if any part of the game interests you, should 100% buy it.
11/10, time to get all achievements

I wanted to wait until I hit Level 50 and started to experience the early stages of 'end-game' before writing my review. So, overall, I do recommend Lost Ark for you to play, and I'll go into more detail further in this review.

To start this off, I'd like to address all the hoards of negative reviews that came at free launch that sunk the game from Overwhelmingly Positive to Mixed. A large percentage of these negative reviews are about people complaining about servers and queues. Personally, I play in NAE and have never even see a server queue, and the ones I do from other people go down relatively quickly. Server queue times won't be too much of an issue as long as you don't play on either EU region.

As for my part of the review, It's generally positive. To start off going over the positives, the most obvious one is the incredible graphics the game has. Every area's design is beautiful, even dungeons that you'll only go in maybe 1 or 2 times per character look great. As for some other positives, the game hosts a wide variety of classes that will still expand as AGS transfers the Korean classes over to Global, and almost every single class has a different playstyle. As you go through the main storyline, (as far as I currently know) you continue to get gear upgrades that differ in appearance and power. You can also play the game in a few ways, which means no matter what you prefer to do you'll likely be able to keep playing. You can blitz through the storyline, or go at a slower pace and complete objectives in your Adventurer's Tome for additional rewards. Speaking of the storyline, even if you don't want to read through thousands of lines of dialogue (most don't, including me), you can still follow the storyline pretty well by just reading a few words per dialogue instance, watching the major cutscenes, and reading the short quest objective text.

For my negatives though, for the first major part of the game, every mob is unbelievably weak to the point that the hard difficulty of dungeons is considered easy by most. There's also way too many collectibles, from Mokoko Seeds to Island Hearts, and even somewhat the Rapport System, completing everything in the game will take an astronomical amount of time compared to just completing the storyline and side quests.

There's probably some things I'm forgetting about while writing this, so I'll probably come to edit/update this later, but my overall review is that you should definitely at least try the various aspects of the game before deciding if you want to stick with it or not.

A pretty fun JRPG that tells the tale of two people, except it’s only one at a time, and about half the game is the same for both of them. Overall a pretty fun game with a decent cast performance, but it’s pretty heavily bogged down by the heavy push for a ‘second story playthrough’ and a tropey/archetypal cast presence.

I’ll rate SCARLET NEXUS a 7.8/10

Pro(s)
- Story: The first time you run through the game, it’s amazing. There’s a hoard of lore to read about and learn through the story, honestly a few surprising plot twists and reveals. There’s quite a few moments where you’ll actually feel a bit sad, and there’s even some details they could expand further upon in a sequel (which is probably not happening unfortunately). The second playthrough as the other character helps show some sides of what they were doing while your first character was off somewhere, but beyond the middle section of the game, both storylines come together so there’s not much difference from the first and you’re essentially just playing the game again exactly.
- Combat: One of the best parts of the game, Your player character’s attacks, psychokinesis (& related abilities), and teammate abilities all fuse together to showcase how you want to play. The varieties of enemies also keep you on your toes and force you to switch up what you’re doing every so often. It does get a bit stale as you move into the second playthrough, but you’re free to mess around with what you feel is best.
- Graphics: Despite it being an ‘anime’ game and having an actual anime (look up the anime codes for some in-game cosmetics btw), the models stand out really well. The cosmetics and weapons are beautifully designed, the monsters all have such interesting designs, and don’t even get me started on the world settings on the holograms everywhere.
- Price: While technically speaking the game runs you enough playtime from both playthroughs and clean-up for its price, definitely wait for a sale for this. They’re quite frequent and deep with a semi-niche game a few years past release already. If you’re also looking at DLC (not required for completion), just get the ultimate upgrade pack for everything, it’ll also go on sale for pretty cheap.

Neutral(s)
- Completion Experience: The thing that sucks the most about the completion is that the majority of the achievements will be/can be gotten in your first playthrough. Going into your second, the literal only things you’ll have left will likely be the bond viewing/gift giving achievement(s) (because each character has unique ones), the enemy compendium (again, unique ones), and the beat the game with both characters achievement. The game can also be quite grindy at times when you might need a specific material to craft something but the enemies just won't give it.

Con(s)
- Characters: Like I mentioned in the preface, while the cast’s designs and performances are pretty good, almost all of it is brought down by the fact that nearly every single one of your party members (and some non-party members) fit nicely into the stereotypical anime characters. For example, protagonist #1 Yuito is dense as a brick and won’t recognize the hints of childhood best friend Hanabi who has a crush on him but won’t admit it. From there you’ve also got shy introverted girl, an old(er) strong mentor figure (2), younger sibling of more renowned older sibling (2), and so on. These roles remain pretty stagnant throughout the whole story, with not a lot of character growth. The most you’ll get is the character bond episodes, but those are never mentioned outside of said bond episodes and sometimes optional one-liner (unvoiced) dialogue when idly talking to them.

If you're thinking about getting Hades, then just go ahead and buy it now. If you're into rogue-like games, you'll love this. There's high amounts of freedom to what you build for each run, the only limitation is the randomness of what the next room(s) can be.

The game may start off hard, and you'll feel as if you made almost no progress, but trust me - once you start to rack up the collectibles (in this case, things such as Darkness and Chthonic Keys) and spend them, it'll go by in a breeze. You'll end up going from struggling to get through half of Tartarus to clearing Asphodel at super-speed. As you keep playing, you get pattern recognition for the bosses, stronger weapons.

Hades can give an experience to players who love all kinds of strategies to tackle challenges. Want a classic, jack-of-all-trades weapon? Why not the Stygian Blade? Want a more "the best defense is a good offense" approach? Shield of Chaos, here. Each weapon on its own has 4 unique playstyles from the weapon aspects too! Once you've figured out which weapon you want to run with, you get to try and aim for certain god's boons during each run which provide different effects that fit into a certain style. Looking for some bonus damage? Artemis' boons have you there. Kill-everything-as-fast-as-possible also works for some people, so you can try to target Ares' boons.

Putting the game's great gameplay aside, the art and graphics presented are just beautiful. Every area in the game is well-designed, the characters have had a ton of effort put into them, it feels like you get to really be there with all the detail presented. Not only that, but you'll quickly unlock the ability to customize the house with the contractor, making cosmetic upgrades to add new things, change colors, and more (not to mention the ability to upgrade hell itself to make your runs a bit easier).

Think you've done everything just because you beat the final boss? No no no, there's still a lot of prophecies for you to do young one, don't forget you can still upgrade more of the house.

Overall, Hades is an amazing game in all aspects. Great gameplay, progression, graphics, and everything else in-between. I'll say it again, so if you're thinking of getting Hades, stop thinking and buy it already.
