Great 2D platformer game, though it's quite difficult for newer players. The boss battles, map exploration and general progression system are all great. This is the kind of game that you want to forget and play all over again. After getting about ~90% game progression, I think it's safe to say this game is an actual masterpiece.

To really enjoy this game like I did, do not watch ANY videos on it, do not use ANY guides, do not look at the wiki at all for your first playthrough or at least until you beat the game. Of course, there might be rare moments where you REALLY need help, but the experience going through the game blind is indescribable. If you can at all help it, do everything your own way, do it without any prior knowledge. I'm glad that I never looked at anything before playing because the experience all the way through was gratifying and the story/lore was some of the best I've seen in many years.

There are times where a boss may be frustratingly difficult, or you can't find the next item needed. Just look at your map and make sure to explore everything. Some bosses just require better items and become MUCH easier, sometimes you need a certain item that helps you attempt bosses over and over without much delay to make it more bearable. One thing to note though, is that every boss feels tough/difficult, but fair - at least until you're at the intended progression stage (otherwise it might feel very frustrating).

The platforming sections of this game do not disappoint either. While the main challenge for progression is to defeat bosses, there are also minor platforming challenges on the way OR major platforming challenges to directly get rewards/items (I'm looking at you PoP).

The movement feels incredibly snappy, in a good way, in a perfect way even. The combat system is almost perfect, it's elegantly done and thought out for almost every nook and cranny of the system. The game responds how you want it to (99% of the time), you never feel as if the movement is screwing you over - unless you don't understand how it works. As for the boss design itself, for the game, they are perfect. There are just some frustrating parts that are included that I feel are flaws: Lost Kin spawns balloon enemies, this simply shouldn't exist. Of course, this terrible inclusion is balanced by the fact that the boss easy with better items, but this shouldn't be how difficulty is ramped.

I've yet to complete everything yet, but I can't stop thinking about playing more and getting every achievement as well. This is the kind of game that is actually fun to complete all the way. The many, many hours that this game has to offer are great to have, instead of the original 2-3 hours that the game could've been. I find myself playing for ~6 hours straight, enjoying every second.

I don't remember how this game costs, as I bought it a year ago and only played it now. Yet, whatever the price is, this game is 100% worth getting. I heard it's £15, which is an absolute steal for a game of this quality and playtime.

To be honest, the music alone makes the game worth getting...
