TO BE UP FRONT: This game is a relaxing time sink in all the good ways, and if that's all you're looking for then it's well worth picking up, especially on sale.

That being said, I can't really recommend the game due to some glaring technical issues that haven't been patched out, and will likely never be on account of CMS 2021 being released.

During my time playing I've had TWO of my most valuable cars just vanish into thin air, never to be seen or heard from again.

The first instance happened after restoring a somewhat valuable car and attempting to take it to the Abandoned Airport for a test drive. The game ended up hanging up at the loading screen at 80%, and after terminating and restarting the game the car was nowhere to be found and was unrecoverable. A pain considering the time I'd sunk into repairing it, but I soldiered on.

The second instance and the one that ultimately killed my push was when I'd spent most of my savings on a car at auction. I'd stored it in the car park while working on some other projects, and when I went after to bring it to the garage for an inspection it too had fallen into the dark void. The vehicle was no longer in the car park, but neither on the floor of the garage, and trying to save/reload, travel elsewhere, etc. had no luck in rescuing it.

There are some other less annoying technical issues (like item duplication in the warehouse) that won't typically get in the way, but when the grind of the game is to build towards bigger and better projects and the programming actively gets in the way of that...it's hard to really dig deeper, let alone give a recommend.

That being said, if Car Mechanic Simulator 2021 has those wrinkles ironed out it'd be well worth the thumbs up.
