Early Access Review
Easy to pickup and drop 15-30 minutes at a time. Very engaging, good progression. Can't beat it for the price.

STOP. TAKING. CONTROL. AWAY. FROM. THE. PLAYER.

I have 72 minutes played in this game and I'm not exaggerating when I say that 50% of that time was spent without having any control or gameplay. It honestly feels like they wanted this game to be a Film and not a video game.

The actual gameplay of my playthrough has consisted of me, no joke, walking through utter pitch black because the game gives you literally zero way to see it. 3 matches gets you ~40 seconds of vision and if you sprint you might be able to light 3 lights - assuming you're allowed to, the game loves removing your sprint-ability randomly for effect - but OH WAIT SPRINTING PUTS OUT YOUR MATCH. And when you're reading one of the many notes that you find in the utter darkness... you're going insane the whole time and your light is burning out.

I'm a massive fan of the original Amnesia game - it was scary from the getgo and rarely took control from the player. Machine for Pigs was boring and not scary. And SOMA was so much story with little scariness at all. This game is even worse. We've spent 72 minutes playing this game and the thing we've learned is we're a pregnant lady who crashed somewhere and that's about it. No character motivation for why she's needing to be the protagonist we follow, just here we are a preggo lady and now you've gotta survive who knows what, for who knows how long, and for who knows what reasons.

I am refunding this title in absolute sadness as I've been waiting over a decade for a proper sequel to Amnesia. This game takes all the fun and fear out of the franchise and instead just wants to throw over an hour of dialogue at you instead of actually giving you an immersive, horror experience to play through from the getgo.

Frictional, you needed an editor and playtesters to tell you that you've gotten too high on your own farts if you think this game has a gripping, engaging beginning when the beginning of your game should be your best foot forward. I literally couldn't even see where I was going for most of the game because they don't give you a light source with any duration or frequency!

I've never played a game that so actively didn't want me to play it, or literally even be able to see it, as much as this game has.

This game defined the potential for VR, for me, as a storytelling medium.

I have shown it to friends and family and they've all been blown away.

If you can play on your own and give this game a straight hour or just a bit more, you'll have a very compelling experience and you will probably feel that this might be what future VR movies will feel like.

This game reminds me of The Goonies meets Myst, but without such crazy hard puzzles.

It's also one of the few games that tries to tackle a "real" environment - this feels like a place within our reality rather that some other dimension. I loved that it really did something unique there, especially with all the other VR games that stay as far from a realistic setting as possible.

If VR games had an Academy Awards, this would win for Best Picture.

Put your friends and family into this, it's a must-have. Especially if you have a real wood plank, you'll really get immersed then!

I actually love the flight mode with Ludicrous Speed turned on as it's so soothing and relaxing to just... fly.

As a Top 30 Global score holder, with 5 Top 10 scores, I have to say this is my FAVORITE VR game, hands down!

It's got everything you could want as a single serving VR game to demo to friends and family, but it's so incredibly deep with its weapon mechanics that you always have improvements to make.

I have a whole youtube series for this game!

I play this game so much and it's been my absolute favorite game to try and master as well as to show off to VR newbies.

If you wanna learn how to get better at this game, check out my Way of the Laser series on Youtube, with new training runs every Thursday!

I love these devs, been singing their praises since the first day I got to demo a Vive (with SPT as one of the games) way back in April '16. Have had this game the whole time and just enjoyed getting better and better at it, especially with the amazing new 1.0 update which has added a ton of new bots and balanced the weapons, truly making this a bullethell style first person arcade shooter. Would love to see a sequel to this game with maybe moving platforms through crazy vistas or something insane like that but for now I am content to just keep hitting the leaderboards!

This is a great game to trade off with people playing. It's such a unique way of controlling a game through movement itself and it allows you to just feel like an action hero. No other way to say it, it's the action hero simulator.

It's probably, realistically, the only way you could really feel like Neo in a VR game.

I traded off with a big group and it was interesting because we would all try and "figure out" the best or coolest way to do a level and try to do it with style for each other too. It's incredibly social in this way and everyone feels so compelled by it that they're just having fun right away.

Get this game if you like doing VR in person with your friends.

Get this game.

I have been waiting for devs to stop being so freaked out about artificial locomotion and just go for the gusto and finally someone has answered.

Of course, with the pedigree of Raw Data, you knew it had to be good.

This game is a WORKOUT though and you will not even realize how much you've tired yourself out. You will just be howling with laughter.

My stepson loves the skate park and wishes we could have maps that are just free form skating maps like a community skate park but in VR.

Everyone I've shown this to has picked it up and figured it out pretty easily and nobody has gotten nauseated before they've exhausted themselves.

Get this and show it off to family. If you're the person that got VR, and you're showing people for the first time, put this in the list of things to show them. Doesn't take long and is self explanatory. There's a special kinda magic from this experience that you can't feel with anything else, mostly because the sort of whimzy and locale is very unique, as I've seen no other VR experience or game go for this motif yet.

Honestly, I finished the game in tears. I just kept thinking "I feel like a kid again". It was wonderful, it reminded me of a childrens show that I was IN, something I only imagined and dreamed of before.

So beautiful. I can't even describe it, it's just this beaitufl and heartbreaking and riveting story that just unfolds with you. There was this amazing feeling of helplessness as an observer that I couldnt help but wonder if that was exactly the feeling we should have had. It was gorgeous and the story had me in tears so many times throughout it.

This is a MUST have for those who demo to friends and families. Moms, sisters, family all love it. It's a great way to show the power of scale in a very different way than many of the life-size VR games.

It's scary, it's eerie, and it made me literally unable to open my eyes and turn around to leave a virtual room. It's so dang eerie and atmospheric. The physics interactions could use some work at times, especially with a particular wall puzzle, but overall it was great.

We played it as a family, everyone switching out one per level. Made all of us really freaked out and nobody was racing to get back in because of the oppressive dread from the game's soundtrack.

Not to mention that it's one of the few games to use ROOMSCALE. They put the whole game in your playspace, effectively, so you really feel like you're standing there in a real room. It's much scarier to have to physically step forward into an eerie place than to artifically locomote there so that's a huge plus and a VERY unique feature of this game which I don't think I've seen any other game really try and pull off in this way.

If you like being freaked out, and you like VR, it's a must have.

WARNING: I get easily startled and this game startled the crap out of me even though there's no jumpscares exactly. Even people who don't startle got startled here.
