Initial impression (only 5 hours played thus far):
For the first time in literally years, I am finding myself excited about playing a new game. I really appreciate the attention to detail given to almost every weapon, uniform, vehicle, animation and sound. The grand scale of HLL is incredibly immersive. The sound effects, like the ground-shaking explosions of tanks and artillery, are top-tier. The realistic pace of sprinting and weapon manipulation is so refreshing in this generation of games that let you streak like a gazelle. I grew up on Battlefield 1942, Medal of Honor Allied Assault, and Call of Duty 1 & 2 and my eyes can't handle the blur of these new games! Numerous servers are still packed with 50 v. 50 players, and when you find teams of people actually communicating and working together this game is truly something special. Hell Let Loose feels like a love-letter to the common infantrymen who fought so courageously during World War II. I will update this review down the road, once I have logged significantly more hours.
