Early Access Review
Despite the game's graphics being impressively underwelming, the game's virtual memory usage is sky high. The framerate is terrible due to bad GPU rendering practices and lack of any kind of optimizations. Basically unplayable.

I've never been a fan of board games, but Armello is the one exception I have made. I first started playing the game via library sharing with a friend and loved it so much that I went out of my way to purchase it almost two years later. The gameplay never gets boring and there are many different strategies and ways to play that it never feels repetitive.

Thsi game can be fun when you play against the right people. Unfortunately, the game is now littered with people who use macros and abuse the ability to charge their weapon, jump forward, and attack, closing huge amounts of distance while attacking faster than any attack can parry without losing.

Devs need to work on some serious balance issues, so I can't recommend this game for now. If you're looking for good sword combat, go play Movie Battles for Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy.

The only time I have ever given a review on a game that was in Beta is when I know without a shadow of a doubt the game is going to fail. This could possibly be the exception. Once the servers are optimized and people aren't forced to play this FPS at 250+ ping (Seriously, this is unacceptable), the game will appeal to a much larger audience. I was one of the few who played GunZ when it first came out and one of the many to stay with it until it became nothing more than a hackfest.

HOWEVER, I am still very concerned for the success of singleplayer campaign. In Campaign, 2 solid strikes from a melee unit and you're dead. Resurrection tokens cost money and there is no other way to purchase them, something that turns off a lot of players and is going to cost GunZ 2 in the long run in terms of playerbase.

The game has had a much needed change in the control scheme meaning that you won't have to worry about getting wrecked by people taking advantage of running on every surface imaginable as if gravity doesn't exist to gain an advantage over another player. Wall-running in multiplayer is kept to a logical minimum and isn't a game breaker. At the same time, I feel as if a cover system is in order as it is possible to die while trying to hide. EIther that or they need to reduce the amount of damage sustained fire can do to you.

Some guns also have a certain unfairness to them at certain points. For example, at close range the falemthrower demolishes everything. If someone happens to turn the corner while using a flamethrower into a tiny room, those in the room have little to no chance to survive. If people are forced down a tiny hallway, Rena's pistols when using her right click does a TON of damage to enemies who cannot strafe out of the way. Hopefully when they add more classes this will be more evened out, only time will tell.

TL;DR: This game will either be overhauled and massively added on to or it's going to fail in the eyes of the majority. I have never been wrong when I've made a statement similar to this, but I REALLY BADLY want this game to succeed.

MAIET, please, for the love of god, do something before it's too late.

I bought this game just to relive the old memories of the Special Forces expansion pack only to find the servers to be dead.

If you're looking for a fun time with friends, look no further than Guns of Icarus Online. The company is already well into the development of an open world expansion to this game called Adventure Mode which will include melee combat, boarding, a market system, and just generally a more immersive method of gameplay.

Edit: Dead game is dead

Too buggy. If you want a good FPS, look elsewhere, such as Red Orchestra 2.

This game is the single best first person shooter I have ever played.

EDIT: THE MULTIPLAYER ISSUES HAVE FINALLY BEEN FIXED! DISREGARD EVERYTHING AFTER THIS!

IGNORE ME, OLD: The only problem I have with it is that when the company that made the game released Rising Storm, the game's Sequel, they tried to integrate it into the original Red Orchestra 2. This causes endless grief as loading times take forever where previously they were very quick and also results in frequent server disconnects. This happens so often that my favorite game has become completely unplayable.

Any reason for recommending this game should be obvious. Massively open world with endless things to do, an enticing story line with a LOT of side quests completing the story line should take you about 200 hours if you did it nonstop and knew EXACTLY what to do, the leveling system makes it so you get to play your character like YOU want, ie you can play a powerful mage who wields a dwarven warhammer, the list of reasons to buy this go on for eternity.

The only reason you shouldn't buy it is if your computer can't handle it, otherwise you're just lying to yourself and cheating yourself out of an amazing experience.
