surprisingly detailed, but kind of easy

The latest patch as of today ("Bancroft") has improved the game considerably, smoothing out several rough edges in the crafting system! Many parts that slowed moment-to-moment gameplay down are gone now.
For context, in the last 60 hours of playing this game I have created a 12 page word document with notes, piece by piece, which I have kept open on my second screen the whole time. About 2/3 of this document is for keeping track of crafting recipes. WIth the newly added features, this is no longer necessary, since the game now keeps track of discovered recipes itself. I honestly wish I had started plaing 3 weeks later than I did and believe that new player will have a better experience than I had.

In general, it holds that the writing and world building is top-notch, but the actual game part of the game is its weak spot. Progress is slow and most of your time is spent reading. If you are fine with that, I'll reckon you'll enjoy yourself.

This game makes it easy to miss what makes it great. If you don't like wikis or youtube tutorial videos and dont want to just try random things until something interessting happens, you won't get more than 15 hours out of this.
If you do like reading up on games you play, it might click and you will have 100 hours of enjoyment at your hands.
If you want to find the secrets yourself, you probably should reserve around 5000 hours just to get started.

The worldbuilding and ambience alone are reason enough to recommend this game.
The music is exeptional. I would listen to it while playing other games regularly. Award-worthy.
