Best grand strategy game on the market. The devs keep it regularly updated with new DLC.

Early Access Review
Great game, ignore the negative reviews. The servers had some issues a few hours after launch, but those are all fixed now and the game runs very smoothly. Players that complain about bad FPS are probably on potato PCs, since I've had a consistent 120+ frames even while fighting. The gun mechanics are excellent and the movement is fast and fluid, matching perfectly with the rapid pace of the gameplay. Graphically, the environment is not the best, but it really does not matter when the main focus is on the gameplay.

IoN introduces actual good shooting mechanics and movement into the BR genre, something that other games have failed miserably at, and for that alone it's worth trying out. At a core level, the gunplay and movement feels very similar to CS:GO, so if you've played that game a lot, IoN should feel relatively intuitive.

If you are tired of the lagfest and clunky mechanics of PUBG or the build spamming and non aim-centric gameplay of Fortnite, you really should give IoN a try. The gameplay is fast-paced, with games lasting around 10 minutes on average. There is very little focus on looting and a high focus on actually fighting people, so besides looting your dead enemies' corpses, you won't need to loot much more than your starting drop area.

**EDIT:** DO NOT BUY THIS GAME OR PREORDER GREYMOOR. Performance is in the worst state it has ever been in, and it's virtually impossible to progress through vet trials or do PvP. Your skills don't go off when pressed and everything is desync'd. ON TOP OF THAT, ZOS recently took away the ability to queue with friends in battlegrounds (instanced PvP mode) and just announced that they are keeping it as solo queue only for the foreseeable future. They don't care about the multiplayer aspect of this game at all and are ONLY catering to the solo quester types.

Performance is horrendous, the devs have no idea where they want the game to go and just make sweeping balance changes patch after patch, there is no direction and planned content for PvP and the endgame PvP community is gradually all leaving. PvE is getting stale and old and we aren't getting a new raid or arena for at least another year, plus the last 3 raids that were added were pretty much all mini ones. ZOS just caters to the casuals and doesn't care at all about the people who sink tons of time and effort into the game.

The FPS is terrible even with a 1070 and i7, and the animations are clunky and slow. How well you do depends 1/3 on RNG, 1/3 on individual skill, and 1/3 on whether or not someone snipes you from across the map.

If you like spending 30 minutes looting and running around, only to be forced towards someone else's cover spot because of bad zone RNG, this game is for you. If you like landing in high loot areas and then dying within 30 seconds because the guy next to you found a scar and all you have is a machete, this game is for you. If you like having great starts with good loot and then getting shot down 5 minutes later from someone you had no chance of seeing or reacting to, this game is for you. If you enjoy dying from randomly flipping motorcycles, this game is for you.

Otherwise, you will probably find this game cancerous.

Despite what others are saying, I quite like this game, and if you like Warhammer 40k, then you probably will too. I OCCASIONALLY get FPS drops, but besides that, I haven't experienced any bugs or hiccups in-game. Probably 90% of the time, the game runs smoothly, so I guess the people complaining about how bad it is must have garbage PCs.

The missions are fun, the environment is great, the Tyranid AI is excellent, the sounds are immersive, the weapons are unique and fun to use, and above all, the gameplay is spectacular. Additionally, the damage system and limited medi kits and psy gates really ramp up the challenge, so I'd definitely recommend playing on one of the harder settings.

I would like it if there were some more cut scenes to flesh out the story arc better, but that doesn't really affect the overall game experience. Also, collecting relics seems a bit pointless, but I guess it's just like collecting Riddler trophies, and it doesn't negatively affect the overall gameplay either, so not really a problem. I'd imagine playing with friends in the multiplayer would garner the best overall experience, though I've mostly done the single player campaign so far and it's still been a great playthrough. Especially for only $30, this is a great buy.
