As a big fan of the main series, I was skeptical initially as I hate MMORPGs in general. However, almost a thousand hours later I must say it's a great experience.
There are a lot of great reviews here, so I'll focus on just two things that make ESO a worthwhile experience for me:
1) You can basically play the whole game solo, never interacting with other players and getting the whole story.
2) There is no Pay-to-Win mechanics here. All paid items are purely cosmetical. You do get a small bonus to XP with the ESO+ membership, but it's irrelevant both in PvP and especially PvE
