Weird experience - I don't understand where all these positive reviews are coming from. This game did not hook me at all: I was looking for an interesting story but it presented some unrelated small events that I just had no interest in. Fights are quite meh as well.

To elaborate: I don't understand who's the target audience of Wildermyth. Die-hard DND fans?.. I doubt it as the mechanics of the game is way too simple. Classic RPG fans?.. But the game barely provides any role playing availability. Not to mention that there's no plot but rather a series of unrelated random events with weird writing. Tactical RPG fans?.. But the fights are very basic and simple. So, no, I can't recommend this one and I have no desire to continue the story after 3 hours tbh.

It's a nice game with a good story, well-thought dialogues and interesting visuals. All in all, a great experience. Stay away, however, if you are not ready to do loads of reading :)

Sorry, but I'm requesting a refund. I've played similar games like Kingmaker and Viking Expeditions, and really wanted to love this one as well. However, Solasta did not hook me at all. An RPG usually means that you are playing some kind of a role in an interesting world with a more or less nice story. However, the story is way too weak in Solasta: I haven't seen so many cliche in years. So, what I didn't like:

- As already mentioned above, the story is non-existent. Basically, 4 complete strangers meet in a tavern, become friends in 5 minutes, get hired by *the guy* (you know, just some guy), and then everyone in the town immediately know who you are. Then you just get railroaded to some dungeon, then to another one etc etc.
- The dialogues are very badly written and voiced. Your characters just stay in line like a platoon of soldiers and keep saying their lines. It's very artificial and painful to watch
- The camera is quite meh: it's hard to navigate in the gaming world
- The fights are okay, but you keep missing for some reason even when the enemy is not in dim light. But I would tolerate that and study the game more if the story was at least moderately entertaining. Unfortunately, it's not.

So, as a bottomline: hardcore DnD fans will probably like this one, but for other players it'll probably fall flat. Alas.
