Fun tycoon type of game, really reminiscent of Theme Hospital from the late 90's.

Wouldn't want to pay full price though

One month is all it takes it seems...

I wish i could formulate why i dislike the game, in the beginning it was fun - but i feel like that was because it was new. I don't know - the more i play it the less fun i have.

I was smitten with the honeymoon feel but now all i meet when i join a server is edgelords, people spamming chat with slurs and "u mad bro"-mentality. The game has some good mechanics, but the community - ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it takes a hard drop in the way it can be enjoyed.

The fighting mechanics are nice and definitely improved for the casual player but it also allows you to bind the swings as you see fit. The maps are decent, but lackluster in where the battles take place and becomes dull fast. There's an assortment of weapons and they're honestly fine, you can make your own "classes" and tailor them to your playstyle.

The community made the game - but sadly also broke it. I've in my short hours of playtime already had enough bad moments to outweigh the good moments and that's just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up.

The only thing in this game worth playing now is Horde.

Sadly an extremely dumbed down version of the Previous Supreme commander games, a tech tree has replaced the build progression that is iconic for the previous games. They've tried to remedy the amount of Micro managing so much that they effectively cured it. I have a hard time having fun playing this game because it has been made so simple - Every mechanic that used to be the standard for the game is more or less ripped away.

The singleplayer is good, but most patches doesn't add to that - the focus is on the online part. Although it can be fun it has been turned into minced meat with online mod hacks, Rockstar has stepped up the game and so have the script kiddies - The singleplayer story is good but it can only pack so much meat to be enjoyable. Then you go to the online part and get pummeled into the ground by hackers so i wish i could recommend the game.

So i have decided to change this recommondation to a Positive from a negative - Old review is kept.

New Review:
So! It came to my attention that PayDay 2 had slashed their MicroTransaction, i couldn't believe what i read. So i checked it out and it was true, i could now re-enjoy the game. And with that fact, i have already played 14 hours the last two days.

The game is what it was - enjoyable. The Devs have made a serious effort to mend their standing with the community and for that i can thumb up the game again. However i will not forget what the dev's did - but at the same time i won't let that impact my feel towards the game.

Now they just need to update the NetCode.

"Well i enjoyed this game for a good solid 47 hours - i would have played more if i had the time. Now i got time... But they've introduced microtransactions to a game that already carried a ton of DLC with minimum added stuff. So congratz Overkill you've managed to copy EA's way of doing stuff, it's always nice to see a game dev studio basically decapitating their biggest support pillar: their community.

It was a good ride playing those measly 47 hours with friends.
