I have to say that most of your favorite games are my favorites, too, and I am very glad you've listed games that deserve(d) much more attention than they received.
Giants (obviously!), Sacrifice, NOLF, Serious Sam, Alice Neverhood, Turok, Unreal, Monkey Island, KotOR... I would say that up to like Zeno Clash, I would pick the exact same favorites by year as you. :)
Curious to know whether Black & White 1 and Populous 3D are games you've played and enjoyed. I WOULD consider them a logical choice based on what I saw. :)
Tex Murphy series had me in stitches a few times; Chris Jones is so perfect in the role. I'm waiting for the newest release of that series - The Poisoned Pawn - will probably be a redux
of the first in the series - (Mean Streets). Should come out thus fall.
Unreal, and Doom - of course. Built many SP and DM maps and had on-site 4 player DM
tourneys in my gaming center back in the 1990s.
Far Cry 2 - I believe is the best of the Far Cry series for it's stark unforgiving real-world story and immersion.
Nice to discover someone with such a similar gaming history.
