It's not "just" a solid Game Of The Year candidate, it's a game that will enter the RPG hall of fame alongside the likes of VTMB, Nier and the Witcher. One of the all-time greats, the only real complaints I have is that midgame/lategame bosses die too easily (their HP should be bumped up a little) and that some character animations can feel a bit clunky. Getting used to the parrying system can also be a bit rough.

Puzzle games are roguelites should not be mixed. I like the meta puzzles aspect, and I enjoyed writing every little detail down, but there is nothing worse than knowing a solution to the puzzle, only to be stopped by bad RNG. This should've been just a straightforward puzzle exploration game, the randomness successfully killed any possible enjoyment I could've extracted from this game.

I'm doing my part!

While I cannot in good conscience recommend this game for its gameplay, its storytelling more than makes up for it. Fantastic characters and plot. I just wish its chapters released more often than they do.

Adding a launcher nearly 10 years after the game's release? Complete bollocks. I wonder if this action will lead to some kind of lawsuit.

A really solid roguelike. Though limited in terms of possible skill combinations - we can't reach the sheer amount of crazy seen in games like Isaac - it nevertheless makes up for it with story and presentation
