410 Hours played
(Steam playtime does not reflect B.net time, which includes a level 100 Necro and at least 200 hours across 4 other characters all 75+)

As a total package rating, it's good but not great -yet-, still worth checking out if you're a fan of ARPGs. The endgame loop still needs work, but they've made plenty of steps in the right direction with post-launch patches. If you go in to it expecting "slightly more complex Diablo 3" you'll have fun. The endgame does not compete at all with POE in terms of content nor item complexity, so if you go in expecting that you'll be heavily disappointed. Graphics are great, soundtrack is good with a few particularly noteworthy standouts, campaign is standard Blizzard fare with a few fun surprises but a bit cheesy plot overall, battle pass offers some good cosmetics for $10 if you care about that sort of thing (there are gameplay bonuses which are available even on the free track).

There's certainly more than enough here to keep you entertained, and up until ~75 is a fantastic game (the late game XP grind has been significantly reduced as of today's 1.2.0 patch, which alongside some other endgame changes helps a lot). If you want a new "turn your brain off and blow up demons" game, it's already in a really good state for that. If you want a game you can play for 1000 hours and still be having a fresh and exciting experience, go play POE. Or better yet, you can play both and just switch when you get bored of one or the other.

As someone with several thousand hours in Diablo 2, Diablo 3, and ~1090 in POE, Diablo 4 has given me more than my money's worth and I've had tons of fun in the process. The bones / foundation of this game are really good, and the development team really does seem to be listening to / incorporating feedback from the community. If you're still truly skeptical, wait until the first expansion pack just like basically every other Blizzard game (D3, and yes even Diablo 2, are both unrecognizable from their 1.0 releases).
