I'm not even a fan of tony hawk likes toooo terribly much, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, if this isn't just really dumb fun. Never thought a pro skater rougelike could work so well, but I'm glad to be wrong. Pretty good ost, amazing addicting gameplay, and just a damn fun time.

A true worthy sequel to the original suits. From the music, to the humor, to the artstyle...all of it is just amazing! A must buy for anyone who adored the original suits, or just likes shorter but still quite fun rpg experiences. It lasts about six to eight hours, or a little over twelve hours if you're like me and suck at it. For the price it's currently at, and even the default selling price, it's a steal. Pick both this and the original suits up, if you haven't already!

Early Access Review
Man, this game is just plain fun. A horde mode tower defense that you also play as a first person shooter, that is very reminiscent of small soldiers, toy story, and your general toys come to life story, save even more toy carnage then small soldiers had. Great gunplay, great enemy roster, and great ost. Has about ten levels right now, but is slated to get more/come out this year if I recall correctly so pick it up then if you rather wait for more content. I like what there is so far myself, given that this ten levels are highly replayable, and it is rather addicting to try and get all the unlockables.

Haven't tried the coop, but I can only imagine it's pretty fun.

Where to start....echoing the words of my previous review, I am sorry to say, that I can not, in good faith, suggest this game in it's current state. I heard that the ending was a bit sudden, but the drastic nature of how sudden it was, was utterly lost on me, until I experienced it first hand in all it's...beauty. While the few select set pieces that are throughout the game that go along the classic works of lovecraft are amazing, the hours of sludging through endless drudgery and torment for the player, in the form of unresponsive combat, countless game breaking bugs, and rear backward design choices that leave me both perplexed and angered.

A sequel hook for a game with tons of interesting ideas, wrapped in an overall mediocre package, and the prospect that they'll just make this into a brand new game, instead of sticking with this one, is insulting to say the least, countless plot threads that you should be able to act on now, forced into the sequel. I don't mind them releasing this now, what I do mind, is them releasing this and calling it a full fledged game with half the content ripped out at the last second, and touting it around as a finished product. This is a competent alpha early access at best. As a crpg fan and a lovecraft fan, this should have been a homerun game of the century for me, a game I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Instead, it's a sour taste of what could have been. Maybe such a sour taste could be washed out if they release some tiny dlcs to bolster the existing quests and give them proper send offs, and make the last arcs of their story a major dlc for this game, instead of moving on and leaving this a shallow husk of what could have been eldritch greatness. Am I being melodramatic? Probably, but only because I was looking forward to this, with such zeal and excitement, using any chance I could get to talk about it, so for it to turn out like this is....just utterly crushing. Wait for a sale, or for them to actually patch in half the game. It wouldn't be such a slap to the face if what's there you could actually play, but given it breaks half the time, you can't even play what little is there.

Yeah damn it, as much as I am mixed on the rpg mechanics, I can't help but love the game. A bit annoying you constantly have to ♥♥♥♥ with your weapons as you level so enemies don't feel like brick walls and your weapons like peashooters, but beyond that, when your guns are up to snuff...yeah, it's a fun time. Synthwave background tracks, good gunplay once you get your guns up to snuff and aim high/just get an ungodly weapon upgrade combo, an overall eighties shlock feel and good story, though there is a lot less story this time around with a bigger focus on gameplay, which is solid for the most part, if annoying at times when enemies pass the level scale threshold where they get more health and you have to scramble to upgrade your gear to match them.

Beyond that...yeah. Good stuff, great stuff in fact. A very solid game and I dare say my favorite spin off game of the series and a better game overall then 2, even if I liked 2 nearly as much as new order shamefully. Second best game of the series so far to me, though do be aware it has enough of a drastic change in gameplay to have a mixed reception, given the..current reviews, aha. To sum it up with some quick pros and cons.

Pros
Solo players curse, since even while actually good, there's no way to turn off the ai bot. Sad.
The whole eighties vibe/sthick is very nice and very well done from the game's ost and the songs made for the game to be campy eighties synth pop with a nazi propaganda twist.
When your guns are up to snuff, nothing feels better then scoring a crit hit and splattering a nazi's brains over some freshly redecorated wall. Speaking of gore, unlike 2, all unique enemy models actually have gore effects. Neat.
The twins are kinda cute in a cringy tween sorta way, yet also in a weird enduring sorta way. Story overall with them is good, though very short.
Basic gameplay loops of leveling, doing quests, and shooting nazis in an eighties nazi controlled diselpunk Paris is bloody good fun....most of the time.
Ai bot isn't utter ♥♥♥♥, one or times it bugged out on me, but other then that, for solo players like me, rejoice, she can actually hold her ground.
Level design is much more improved and you can feel Arkane's influence.
Cons
Focus on the coop leaves singleplayer a bit on the side, more so when you do it, you can't actually pause the game when offline...grand.
Weird visual bug where if you throw a grenade and it explodes outside your view, your screen flashes black. Not sure if this is for everyone or a nvidia thing. Thought I should mention it.
Gunplay sucks for like thirty minutes or so here and there until you upgrade a few of your guns up to snuff, when enemies hit a certain threshold after you level up enough times.
THEY GOT RID OF THE DIFFICULTY NAMES FROM THE CLASSIC GAMES, MACHINE GAMES YOU HA...

Overall...a very solid game, get it now if you're a mega wolf freak who doesn't mind the more borderlandsy/destiny approach to things, or a fan of those kind of games and shooting nazis. Otherwise worse things to spend thirty dollars on, but might want to wait for a sale.

Old school shooter rougelike with tons of modifiers to customize the game to your liking, from making it just a bit easier, to changing the whole gameplay loop and adding rpg mechanics to the game. A must buy at the current price, heck I would say it would even be worth if it was at full.

Really amazing dlc that both improved the main story's characters, fleshes them out, gives a mostly interesting new baddie, a new gun tier, and overall really great humor and sends offs to characters and/or setting them up for bl3. Without spoiler though, for sure a for the fans kinda dlc, if not for the more fanservicy moments, for the fact there is a very easily grindable bosses that just ♥♥♥♥♥ out legends, and playing it normally one of the bosses is going to give you a legend. So very, very generous dlc both in the loot it gives and the fact it's free. A must play if you want a taste of bl3, in bl2.

A choose your own adventure esque game with strategy and clue sleuthing, set in an anthro and human filled world cyberpunk dystopia. Megacorps, corrupt officials, and a few alienish threats in the form of a mold hive mind. Your typical game only lasts a hour or two, but the gameplay while simple is addicting, and the story can play out in several different ways, with several different scenarios. Only had one full game that ended in the common "You failed" game over ending, and several restarts, but I really, really like it, and say it's worth the current asking price. Worse comes to worse wait for the steam summer sale, but I do really suggest you get this now, to both support the devs, and well..because it's good and worth the asking price.

A really fun, solid throwback of a game, that offers at least a solid four six hours of play, if not more for repeat playthroughs. Lives system isn't as bad as I thought it would, be and the soundtrack is effing killer.
