At time of writing, this has just released in early access. That said, there's plenty of areas to explore, the environments are lovely in that cute, cartoonish Slime Rancher way we've come to know and love, and the new slimes are just as interesting and adorable as we'd expect. Without giving too much away, there's enough content at launch, including enough story tidbits to start guessing at what might be going on, that I played more or less for three days straight before I reached what seemed to be the limits of the content for now.

Slime Science being unlocked right off the bat is great, and a wonderful explanation for how we're able to upgrade without the prior game scenario's corporation supporting Bea. Chicken coops also seem more efficient than before, which makes meat-eating slimes easier to feed - a very good thing as there aren't enough veggie and fruit-eating slimes yet to cross with all of the meat eaters and those without favorite foods without doubling up.

Bottom line, I definitely have a new serotonin game for when I need a break from heavier fare, and I'm looking forward to the first update.
