The game is great, if 11 years late... the single player story is a perfect continuation of the original game, and the few times I've been able to play multiplayer, it's been great. But for the last week, I have been completely unable to complete a mission in PvE or start a PvP mission because of something that keeps dropping the network connection.

I've tried all the fixes on Reddit - changed my time zone settings, turned off crossplay, turned off steam overlay, but none of it works. It's a real pain.

Yes, I'd recommend the game, but I'd also advise people to wait a year before buying it... to give the devs a chance to iron out some of the bugs. I've got quests that won't complete despite doing everything in the walkthroughs, quests you can't complete because you didn't take the right person to the planet to do the mission (and no hint of having to do so). It's frustrating, because it could be so good. But I've never had to save my progress so many times for any other game, and just this week I had to go back an entire DAY's worth of play to get to a point before I missed something really important.

When it works, it' not a bad game, but I can't use the joystick AND the keyboard, which is how I've played every single Star Wars flight game ever, since X-Wing, TIE Fighter, X vs TIE etc... on searching and searching and searching, I've founds lots and lots of people with the same problem, and no sign of any fix from the publishers. Just a shame I left it so long after purchasing to play the game, or I'd be after a refund.

I've really enjoyed playing this game, but it would be really nice to be able to buy a whole game at release, and not have to buy the extra bits to finish it off, at double (at least!) the cost of the game in the first place.

This could have been such a good game... I bought it on the strength of Medieval II Total War, which I'd played to death, over and over and over... the Stainless Steel mod helped with that too. This was the natural progression to the series. If only they'd kept it to the same format, the same style.

They changed it. It looked good, a lot prettier certainly, but it was plagued by bugs. As yet, I haven't been able to complete a game without it crashing out on me. It got so bad that I'd have to save after EVERY turn, and it still didn't fix the problem.

The gameplay was good, I certainly spent a lot of time playing, and enjoyed it for the most part. But ultimately, the technical issues stopped me from playing it. Shame.
